Human hair is dead from the root up right? If so, why is it when you shave certain parts of your body where hair only grows to a certain length and then stops growing like on arms or chest, how does it "know" it's been cut and grow back???

because human hair doesnt actually stop growing anywhere, it tends to break off
also anyone whos ever had laser knows different follicles are active at different times. hair all over your body is subject to chaffing, hair on your scalp really isnt. eyelashes and eyebrow hairs have a time line where they fall out while being replaced by new hair, like primary teeth.

think zz top beards

maybe I misunderstood the question im not sure if I explained this right

poodle hair doesnt stop growing either
curly hair has a different exterior shape than straight hair....

Hmmm....I don't buy it. I think hair on certain parts of the body does stop growing, or at least slows down to a great extent after a certain length.

My pubes seem to stop growing after they've reached about 6" in length..:D

and every pre-med(no such major) student loathes biology and its almost total uselessness for med school

yeah, cuz I'll never mull the idea of using bant material
