Hows it going all? I have posted a few times in the past but been away for some time. First some quick stats.
Age: 22
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 205
BF: 12%
Cycle Experience: have done 4 shorter cycles currently on few month break in attempts to regain some balance.
No need to fear I am not simply another academic looking to debunk bodybuyilding and expose it as a vain self indulgent practice. Rather, it is my love of both the sport and art which has led to begin work on a book about the sociological influences to body building. There is some decent current literature on the subject including Fussel's autobiography "Muscle: Confessions of an Unlikely Bodybuilder," Bob Paris' "Gorilla Suit" and Harrison Pope's "The Adonis Complex." However, with the exception of the bias nature of "The Adonis Complex," few works examine the influence media has with male body image. I have begun work on "Billboard Body," which aims to examine such mediums of media as: videogames, movies, television, toys, advertisements, and professional athletics and establish a clevage between the increasing interest in bodybuilding and the increasing power of media's voice. I don;t want to appeal to academic nerds so it will be an easy, read with notes of humor through out. To give you a better idea, a sample chapter is an analysis of how video game characters have changed in physique from mario to current combatant characters. Does this project sound of any interest to you all? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. O One more thing. I posted in this board becuase the book inevitably is concerned with pharmacology as a means to aiding in the achievment of society's as well as our personal desired physique.
Regards - Mike
