me needs a little help... ankle problem?

Anyone that can give me advice about ankle problems , please feel free to do so

I don't recall having injured myself, but the tendon area on the back of my ankle is quite swollen, and it is painful when i bend up foot up, as if i was walking down stairs, with tht motion, any weight on my foot hurts

what the hell do i do? :(

that's the achillies right? (sp?)

what you don't want to do is sever it :)

RICE - rest, ice, compression, elevation

the guys on the team were constantly blowing out their achilles if their calves grew faster than their flexibility was ready for... usually they were really fast, but would get injured a lot (the tension there meant crazy spring, but it coudl break or tear easy) - long/triple jumpers also fried it a lot too

what happy said, because my cousin blew her achilles in university basketball and had to quit because the problem became chronic. don't mess with the achilles.

i am not tooooooo sure its the achilles, it runs along the side of my ankle a bit too, not just the back of it
i dont know anatomy, so it's hard for me to say

thanks HS... rice for me.... :\

i still have no clue what i did to hurt it. probably something in tennis.. arg..

its probably the achillies,it may feel like its coming from the side but the pain is probably echoing aroudn to the side,do what happy said

what HS said.

Go get a GOOD ankle brace from a soccer or tennis shop, preferably the kind that laces. Wear it whenever you play from now on. I have no lateral stability in either anle from soccer!!!

anything that involves tention on the calf and then bending the foot up twards the knee will stretch the achilles - so if it is that, then really anything can get it, it is just a mater of how pliable it was at the time.

as long as you don't need to play many sports or anything, just rest and it should heal - but if you keep doing the activity that hurt it (tennis it sounds like) - then it won't heal.
sounds like common sense, but I've seen many a dude barely be able to walk for the rest of their life due to being stupid and trying to run thorugh their injury - that isn't one to mess with.

if it is one of the others, then it is far less serious and they heal quick too (the achilles is bad b/c it usually doesn't get much bloodflow, so it is slower to heal)

NARF!!!!!!!!
my cat just crawled up my back with his claws.. shithead!

thanks guys :\
:)
