Anyway, poor kid!

Kid shouldn't have been puuling away!! He did it twice before the cop slammed him!

Be a punk get treated like a punk!!!!

I am alomost always on the cops side when it comes to scum running, fighting, or in anyway resisting. They get what they deserve!!!

Didn't look like an accident.
I think he realized he was a little overzealous with a handcuffed kid and cameras on.

I've fucked up many an arrow in my day

I had a friend who use to go out every weekend drink like a fish and fight. That was his plan. The cops were sick of him and he just kept becoming more of an asshole to them. One night he kicked a foot imprint into the paddy wagon. Cops had a little talk with him and then threw him down a flight of stairs. He deserved what he got and he stopped testing the police after that incident. My friend really need to stop what he was doing. He was banned from every bar in the area he drank at. Final thing that got him jail time was he kicked out someones eye in a drunken fight.

Shit, the kids here are stealing cars and using them to ram police cruisers, random cars and even pedestrians. It's almost epidemic. Innocent people are dying due to our weak-assed YOA. Kids can kill somebody and get back out on the streets on bail to do it again. They get released time and time again, even for the most serious offenses.

A teenage girl was riding in a stolen vehicle approx. a month or so ago and just happened to smash into a cab deliberately and killed the cab driver. The girl was caught on camera laughing it about while giving her statement to the police. Her exact words were, 'We all gotta die sometime".

You don't go to jail for attending church services. These kids are there because they committed a crime. It's too bad the punishment doesn't fit the crime.

I think the cop wanted him to stop pulling away.

It seemed to have worked.

At some point, you gotta stop talking shit. Maybe when you're in front of the cop, maybe when you're IN the handcuffs, maybe AFTER you get your head bashed into the wall, but at some point.... you gotta stop talking shit.

I see no problem, banging a ghetto rat is good stuff. Would you rather have him out having childrens and drinking 40s.... leave the real work to the police, go back to your cubicle and think about your green weekend coming up with the tree huggers.

Okay yes... the Kid prolly did deserve it......

But, Isn't a police officer supposed to set the example, not drop to a "thug" level mentality?

He's supposed to be better than the punk he's arresting not the same as him.

Just sayin....

it was a good attitude adjustment if you ask me
i think he will think twice about trying to be a tough guy next time
i agree with whoever said i dont think the copper actually meant to slam him like that

A punk is a punk no matter the color of their skin. He prolly deserves more of a beating than he got, but I agree, it wasn't Barney's place to be doing that.

You mean a group of black people ganging up on a white guy and beating him up unprovoked?

Good argument.

yes attitude adjustment

Ok. So he provoked perfect strangers that would beat him up because he reprimanded a criminal? Then they decide to get together and beat him because he's white? Why is it a group of black people? Would it be a hate crime because a group of blacks ganged up on one white man and beat him?

Yes, and how many 16 yr olds are in prison for murder, rape, armed robbery, etc.?

If you're 16 and want to act big and bad you have to deal with the outcome of your choice!

It has nothing to do with race either. If billy bob redneck wants to act like a fool, slam his face into the wall as well.

If we let the cops be cops and treat these thugs like the scum they are we may have a safer world. I know back in the late 50's early 60's when my dad was a cop the streets were safe to walk down. Why, because if he or his fellow officers caught you cutting up and you gave them attitude, they adjusted it for you real quick!!!

Remember a day when, if you did something wrong and your neighbor caught you they would whip you and send you home for another round?

Kids today have no disciplne because there are no consequences for their actions.

My dad only had to tear my butt up one time for me to get the message!!!

I was also afraid to act stupid in school beacuse our coach had a paddle with holes drilled in it!!

Say it with me class, Consequesnces!

I know the tree hugging, don't damage the fragile mind of a child with a spanking liberal idiots will soon respond.

So let's hear how you would deal with this unruly generation. Wait, I know Nationalized therapy!! No thanks! If I am going to spend my tax dollars I would rather it go to cops and let them beat the crap out of these punks!!!

Let the beatings begin!

PS If there is law enforcement reading these posts, I for one appreciate the job you do!! Might not agree with all the laws you enforce but stand behind you not taking crap off guys like the one in this thread!

let the beatings resume!!!

This is what the other side is saying
1. Police brutality is wide spread
2. The brutality is generally along a racial line
3. Incidences such as Brooklyn killing where police unload high capacity clips in a total abuse of force are actually promoted....

Look I'm not arguing that 2 wrongs make it right.
All I'm saying is people should admit the first incident is wrong. If you are unwilling to admit that a handcuffed face first slam into cement is wrong , then how can you say the guy being beaten up by a "gang" is wrong.

I know when I have kids if they get outa line I'ma whip there ass. When I was younger my mom and dad used to spank me, and I learned real quick what was ok and what was not.

Not to say that all kids actions warrant a spanking. But there deffinetly are casses when their actions are begging for an ass whoppin!!

GS, everyone here knows that "by and large", police officers in this country disgust me cause they seem to think the badge allows them to do shit they put folks in cuffs for. "However".........in this case, just off what I see in the vid.......I'da done something similiar. I might have put the kid in a rear choke till he calmed down.........but you have to admit that the kid was cussing at the officer to get his hands off of him and forcefully pulled away twice. There's alot more "authentic" police brutality events out there, this one doesn't even register with me. Had the officer continued to give him a beating on the ground, different story. It was one slam against wall and then restraint.........that was textbook. I'm sorry the kid got his face bruised a bit.........but that's the way it goes. Had the officer done what I would have, the choke........he probably would be up for charges for that too. There's a line between "restraint" and "brutality".........and it's clear and we all need to acknowledge it.

Then they would have yelled at Sharpton for being racist....

Not true at all! However, if you push or hit a cop, run from a cop putting their lives as well as innocent lives at risk, or, mouth off thinking you are all that, then yes, let the beat down begin!!! The respect your mamma didn't teach you a night stick will!!

mentally unstable.. what a load of shit, that is used to defend criminals in tons of cases just like, drug addicted, effected by alcohol etc.
"Since 2005, 20 misdemeanor and felony charges have been brought against the teen" sounds like a great kid to have roaming the streets..
"Court records show the teen's mother is in prison but do not make clear where his father is." sounds like a well disciplined family..
The officer involved, Derek Nugent has been a cop for 10 years with no excessive force complaints prior.

i cant believe the tolerance some of you have for scum like this.
is it gona take one of these scum bag fucks to mug, rape, murder your mother, sister or daughter before you wake up?

We have woken up....
http://www.hrw.org/reports98/police/uspo14.htm

Police abuse remains one of the most serious and divisive human rights violations in the United States. The excessive use of force by police officers, including unjustified shootings, severe beatings, fatal chokings, and rough treatment, persists because overwhelming barriers to accountability make it possible for officers who commit human rights violations to escape due punishment and often to repeat their offenses.1 Police or public officials greet each new report of brutality with denials or explain that the act was an aberration, while the administrative and criminal systems that should deter these abuses by holding officers accountable instead virtually guarantee them impunity.

This report examines common obstacles to accountability for police abuse in fourteen large cities representing most regions of the nation. The cities examined are: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Providence, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. Research for this report was conducted over two and a half years, from late 1995 through early 1998.

The brutality cases examined, which are set out in detail in chapters on each city, are similar to cases that continue to emerge in headlines and in survivors' complaints. It is important to note, however, that because it is difficult to obtain case information except where there is public scandal and/or prosecution, this reportrelies heavily on cases that have reached public attention; disciplinary action and criminal prosecution are even less common than the cases set out below would suggest.

Our investigation found that police brutality is persistent in all of these cities; that systems to deal with abuse have had similar failings in all the cities; and that, in each city examined, complainants face enormous barriers in seeking administrative punishment or criminal prosecution of officers who have committed human rights violations. Despite claims to the contrary from city officials where abuses have become scandals in the media, efforts to make meaningful reforms have fallen short.

16 is old enough for an ass whoopin' IMO. He wants to act like a bad ass and get arrested then act like tough shit while handcuffed then he will get treated like an adult.

hahahaha. You are only seeing a small part of what happened. Would you not agree? maybe this kid did something bad and was talking shit all the way to jail. Maybe he threatened his kids and family, spit on him, hit him or kciked him.

Cops are human too and react when pushed. Is it always right? No. Did this Kid die? No. Did he cry like a little bitch after acting like a tough guy. YEAP!!!!!!

had the kid been acting right not being an ass then I would have sympathy and say it was wrong.

And why is he unstable? hmmmm Maybe because his mom is in jail and the father is no where to be found. I am guessing from y experience with these types of kids he was abused and beaten bu parents and family.
\
Let me guess this is the white mans fault too for holding the black man down?

Is it also possible that these are reported cases of abuse? Meaning that they may not have happened or the persons/black persons were angry they were arressted for doing wrong and filed a complaint? I am not saying this is the case but is it possible.

I know in my line of work as an ER nurse we see all kinds come through. And to be honest the loudest people when they dont get what they want are the balc people or they pull the race card. Pisses me off to no end cause it has nothing to with race. If they could only see what we do to the whitey's, poon jabs and hispanics. We treat them alike when they are drug seeking.

Your best bet is to stop wth the race shit. People like you Sharpton and Jackson keep it going.

The whites have moved on to holding the arabs back.

He will always play that race card. I hate those kind of people. When all else fails teh break glass response is "its because Im black"

This one lady at work got mad at em because I sent her back to the lobby after traige her as non-emergent for her chronic back pain. On the way out she said I am prejeduce. I told her I can't be my mom is black. She told me I didnt look like it. Then I smiled and said never judge a book by ts cover or the color of its skin cause you dont know what on the inside. She walked right out the door and went somewhere else. I just laughed. I was lying of course
