My secret du jour? Hmmm ... I'm not feeling my normal, confident, poised self these days. My folks are great, but I feel like a loser moving back home. I've got 17 more months here. But, I'm trying to look at the big picture, i.e. payoff.

The big payoff? A job with a starting base salary of about $75,000. Then, court reporters sell their transcripts for about $7 - $8 per page.


Thanks MP5. My family is actually pretty psyched to have me around. It's been 12 years since I've lived within 650 miles of them. I used to live in Asia (about 8,000 miles), then the very tip of Northern California (in Humboldt - 950 miles away), then in San Francisco (650 miles away).

Yeah, $75 K is the base. My cousin made $180,000 last year.
