Thought I'd give going heavy a whirl this week on the flat bench...boy could I tell that I haven't been doing a lot of flat work. It's ok though..my log press has gotten a lot stronger from it:).

Flat Bench
several warm ups
225 x 5
275 x 1
315 x 1
365 x 1
405 x 1-1 (missed the 2nd one)

3 Board Press (close grip)
315 x 3
337 x 3
359 x 1

Incline Bench
315 x 2 (paused at bottom position on racks...totally relaxed)
225 x 5 (close grip and full pause and relax at bottom)

Dbell Rows (2" thick dbell)
80's x 12 x 2 sets

Plate Raises
35's x 12 x 2 sets

St Dbell Curls
55's x 10

That was it for today. Running late for work. I am gonna try to attach a link to a coupld of mpegs of me doing 365 and 405 on the flat bench. Hope they work.

405 Flat Bench:

Didn't have my shoulders tucked hard enough and didn't have my elbows tucked in as much as I should have. Must focus on exploding off my chest...took it down too slow too...timing and technique was off today.

Night Fly was recording and didn't see that I had my safety pins set to catch me if I dropped the weight. When I stalled on my 2nd rep and let it fall...she stopped recording and was on the way to my rescue:).

3 board press, close grip, relaxing on chest with 359.
 
Relaxing with a 225 incline close grip bench. Had to really relax to let it rest on the safety pins...

Bfold - the mpegs were too dark to make anything out... don't know if there's anything I should tweak from my end.

but killer workout anyway :)
 
nice job, nice bench too. videos were a bit dark but i could make them out.. your timing was a bit off on the 2nd rep of 405... happens to me all the time.. once i work up to 180 or more with a pause, my leg drive just fails, and i concentrate on the weight too much

You can try to lighten your screen. My camera doesn't take good mpegs when it is not super bright...and my garage is like a dungeon.

Thanks. Yeah...watched the mpegs a few times and could tell a few things that I did incorrectly.
1) Untucked my shoulder blades on the 2nd rep
2) Didn't hold my breath on the 2nd rep
3) Elbows flared out when I got stuck

I am thinking about video taping my workouts, events included, and watching them for form errors. Form, technique, and timing are so key guys...they really are.

if i had a video camera.. i'd video tape mine too.. i'd like to see how my form is going and stuff..
it could really help you fine tune little things in yuour lifts.
