massive dips PR

man it feels good being bigger and stronger again

So my previous best on weighted dips was +30 for 5 reps

Today I load on the 30, I go to dip. I expect 5 reps and get them with surprising ease. I think, why not, let's see how far I can go.

Pumped out another easy 5.

Damn that was cool. +30 for 5 right to +30 for 10. Now I'm thinking it's time to hit +40 and +50
 
I love it when that happens. It's usually like that, I can go for a week or two and barely make my rep goal for a certain set, this can carry on with much effort on my part for all that time, then one day I will go into the gym and suddenly I can do much more than ever before. It feels amazing!!! I do have a hunch though that this normally happens when I am well rested and for some reason have extra energy those days, then I will hit new PR's on more than one exersize... Did you have simialar ease with other exersizes that day or was it only on dips?
 
Nice, orb. You'll be at 2 plates for 5 really soon. Then you'll really feel like a bad ass.

yeah I pretty much kicked ass in everything

doing HST, I find that happens after my 2 day layoff at the end of the week. The extra day makes a huge difference, especially when doing fullbody workouts near failure!
 
Congrats !

I wish I could do some weighted dips as I used to (my shoulders don't appreciate though)
 
im startin to get into dips too. i just got my bodyweight 8 times today on the rings, on those dip stations i bet 10 would be easier. what next, try a 5x5 bodyweight or something?

Nice pr! 5 to 10! fast gain

I am doing 5 dips with a 35lb but my bench is like 5 x 135... surely the dips should be helping the bench? My bench sucks so bad its embarrasing everytime I bench(my bw is like 145). Anyone have any idea/advice about what I may be lacking?

Exactly man, I am doing hst now also and after the two day rest I come back with tons of extra power.
