I was considering purchasing this book and am wonderding if you fella's think its worthwhile?

Any feedback?

I can't find it the local bookstores (Borders, Barnes and Noble).

I've been wanting to purchase it- where have you guys bought it?

Its a great book. However It's mainly detailed information on how to perform 6 lifts. In a format of a teacher would read it, then can teach, watch, and correct his student's lifts.

It's for beginner lifters.

I bought it from amazon.com.

it's a fantastic book, I have it and highly recommend it.

the detailed descriptions of the exercises are incredible.

the chapter on squatting technique was worth the price alone, IMHO.

Well I guess the crowd has spoken. One more question, does it outline routines, specifically, periodized routines?

No, its focus is on teaching the main lifts in a very detailed manner. There is another book coming out soon called Practical Periodisation that goes hand in hand with the above, which is written by Lon Kilgore who does a lot of work with Rippetoe. As I understand it, it will teach you how periodise and when to periodise, so you will know enough to be able to periodise your own routine.

The new training vault sticky contains links to a number of routines that are periodised if you're looking for something to follow.

Here's a link with info about both books: http://www.lonkilgore.com/books.html

A lot of people seem interested in the Periodisation book, so keep your eye out for it being released too. Buy both!
