Male Pec Implants

Does anyone here have them? I'm considering them to correct a botched gynecomastia surgery. The surgeon liposuctioned way too much out of my chest. He also liposuctioned a lot more on one side than the other. Now when I tighten my pecs I have this huge area in my lower chest that has no fat or muscle. There's just loose skin.

If you've had pec implants, let me know your experience with them. I'm concerned they may limit my movement or might slip out of place while lifting.

I personally would advise against it. They are probably rare but I've seen some cases where the body rejected the implant (calf implant) and then the guy got infected, they ended up removing a huge portion of his calf muscle on both legs.

Maybe you could go to a plastic surgeon and see if he can do a similar procedure like women have done in breast reduction surgery. I think they call it the key hole incision. They remove excess tissue and skin, and use the nipple line to "hide" part of the incision scar. Maybe its possible for men too.

I wasn't too sure about the inplants. My problem is that I need areas to be filled in. The only ways I know that it can be done are with silicone implants or by removing fat from one body part and injecting it into the area to be filled.

I really wish I had picked a better surgeon.

The TV show The Doctors today, 3/4/09, addressed the issue of pec implants. What the plastic surgeon showed was what looked like a pretty hard piece of plastic that he said is placed via an incision in the armpit area. He said it doesnt affect the muscle or development of the muscle at all. The guy that was on was nicely built, in my opinion. I'd really think about having something that looked like that piece of plastic placed in your body. Maybe you can email the site connected to that show and see if they offer any advice for someone in your situation. Best of luck.

You should check out a plastic surgeon in Boston, he is a bodybuilder himself and specializes in gynecomastia - his name is Rick Silverman and works in Brighton, MA. Google his name and you will get a lot of info on him with pictures as well. If anyone knows about implants, fixing botched gyno surgery, I would imagine it would be him

I've actually looked at Silverman's website before while researching my options for correction. I've read some good things from some of his past patients. I'm just not sure if he can fix my defect.

I had an office consultation with Dr. Bermant who posts on this board. He basically told me that I'm fucked and nothing can be done to fix me.

Being a chic, I don't have pec implants but I do have regular implants placed under the muscle which seems to be the same thing, just different shape. Fat and muscle are 2 different types of tissue. If you look at anatomy pictures, you will see that fat sits over top the muscle. So you can't use implants to fix a decreased amount of fat on one side. The implant will placed under the muscle and the fat is over top so you are still gonna have the exact same problem you have now. I also have the same problem when I flex that my muscles moves and the fat over the implant just kinda looks funny and hangs there. I'm a figure competitor so I diet down for shows and once your bodyfat lowers, you can really see the edges of the implant. When the implant is placed, they open a pocket under the muscle and that's where the implant sits. Your body will form a capsule around the implant, it doesn't move around anywhere (unless you tear a pocket but, they tend to be pretty secure).

So in my honest opinion, you need to find a good surgeon that can lipo the other side so that you have the same amount of fat tissue remaining on both sides and then possibly do a lift to remove any excess skin which sounds like the problem you have, too much skin left after the removal of fat. You definitely don't want to do one implant because one side of your chest will always be bigger than the other (unless one muscle is bigger than the other and you need to make the actual muscle match). Another thing to consider is that lipo changes the way the fat is sitting under your skin and after you even out the amount of fat and possibly tighten up the skin, you may still have an issue of your chest looking funny or dimpling when you flex.

Hope this helps.

There is another similar procedure called a binelli or donut lift. It works on the same principal only you don't have a line going down below the nipple....they just make an incision around the nipple and remove the excess skin there. It's more tricky and not all surgeons do it so make sure you find a good one that has a lot of experience with it. I actually had one doc tell me the only way to do a lift was the keyhole or lollipop incision. Then another doc with 10 more years experience told me about the binelli lift. I'm so happy I spent the extra time researching.

Ive NEVER seen a set of pec implants on a male look normal or correct. I would avoid and consider other options.
