Making progress in the gym by not going to failure

Working for me. Anyone else have success with this method?

15 lbs gained in the last few months. Of course some of that is fat, but not all of it. I'm a monster.
 
It me a long time to chang to this type of lifting a waisted so much time.

i am way stronger an bigger than when i was lifting for a "pump"

How do you lift now? I just go by feel. Don't want to risk injury and going to failure on legs might make me pass out, so I cut back some and wallah, progress made. Can't say for sure if that's the reason.

If you *could* bench 250 for 9 and only do 7 the first week and then 8 the next...is that progress??
 
Nah. I try never to leave any bullets in the barrel. Plus I like the challenge. Power to you if it works for you
