Make-up!

I've never been a fan of most make up - I either rub it off or eat/lick it off - always been a problem for me. (I'm a spaz)

Gloss has always been my best friend - I eat it off - put it back on, no mirror needed.

Foundation/concealer - I swear the right color does not exist - too pale/pink, too beige warm or too dark.

What's a girl to do?

(Wear mascara and gloss that's what she does)

Then I found this beauty!

It's called bare minerals and the whole line is powdered minerals.

I found my color - for those nights out.

Found the best dark circle cover up - they call it bisque (also hides breakouts!)

For every day use I use the bisque and the mineral veil (which is like translucent powder) and if need one of the blushes/warmth.

They have blushes - very nice, very natural.

Eyeshadow - haven't tried it.

My next purchase is going to be liner, lipstick and gloss - a girl can never have too many lip colors.

Take a peek.

Foundation is the hardest thing for me to find. I swear every time I find just the right one the company discontinues it. I've got mixed skin, oily in parts, dry in others, and now I'm starting to get wrinkles, so the right foundation is important. I've been using Merle Norman's Luxiva, SPF 12 and love it.

A little make-up trick I just learned a few months ago is to brush on just a little blush or bronzer powder (whatever you use on your cheeks) over your eyeshadow and it really pulls the colors together giving a more natural appearance.

Ohhhh!!! I've been seriously considering getting that Velvett. I don't like the idea of coating my skin in a mess of assorted unnatural crap which is what initially made me want to try bare minerals. I feel like something light and natural like that has to be better for my skin than other stuff.

That's it. Now I have to try it.

Sounds awesome Vel..... might have to check it out. I've seen it before.... but I am such a MAC fan, it would take A LOT to change my allegiance to MAC..... :)

and I TOTALLY agree with the "can't get too many lip colors"...I swear I buy more lipstick than anyone. :) I love the stuff. Funny thing is, I rarely wear it during the week...only on weekends. Who has every heard of an elementary school teacher stopping her lesson to put on her lipstick. :) :)

I'm like you, unless I am going to go out, I don't wear a lot. My eyeshadow, mascara, and all that are very natural. I don't wear blush because I have a tendency to turn red part of the time anyway, lol. I swear by lip stuff though, normally gloss or chapstick, unless I have time to put on lipstick. lol. I can't stand my lips being dry or bare. :)

Thanks Velvett..
I have the hardest time finding the right make up!

Daisy,,,,, Together we could probably open up a lip stick store! :)

I just started selling skincare because I love the stuff...no more dark circles under my eyes and a nice lift cream that really works!! I'm pretty low maintiance in the makeup dept. but you have to have great skin to put it on!

I have to agree with Daisy about MAC. My wife had the same problem not being able to find the right foundation for years. we spent 20mins at the MAC store one day and a sales rep found the right one for her. It is matches her perfectly. . . She uses a stick to treat/conceal spot blemishes, then she applies the MAC foundation and last some sort of skin highlight foundation. We like going to NightClubs and I think she looks sexy wearing some glitter, we found some great looking MAC glitter it is pink/purple very subtle and tasteful... I defiantly have to Agree MAC is the shiznit hands down.

I went to the site, I'm just curious.... If you can only get this stuff thru mail order, how can you find the right tone for your skin? I found that it is better to have sales rep try different colors on you to find the right one. How can that be done with this product?

I am a big MAC fan is orignaly and Canadian company tell the yankees bought it out. Although there is no foundation there that really suits me either. Velvett how is the bare minerals when you tan? This is my biggest problem I need like three diffrent shades; the my white ass has not seen the sun in 6 months shade, the I have enough colour to look normal shade, the I have just been in rio for 3 weeks shade.

Damn Velvett, now you're going to have me wanting to try that make up... I can see more money flowing right out the door. lmao

I use all MAC right now for make up and Origins for all my skin care products.

I still want to know how you find the right foundation color if you can't have a sales rep try the different shades. . . . . ummm? how?

I went through the same questioning.

You can call them and speak to them some are more helpful than others and they do show you what shades of skin go with which color packs. (Video on the website)

I am very very pale but I have olive skin (go figure) so I thought I would need the tan and light. I took a chance with the medium because each pack comes with two colors that you can mox together of use on or the other.

I use one of the medium colors (one is more olive tones with no pink/beige cast)- if I need that coverage. For daily use I use the bisque and the clear powder (mineral veil).

They give you two shades to work with - there's a sun bisque with has a sun kissed color. You can also order each color indivdually to suit you better.

I have medium the next color in tan which is for tan or latin toned skin.

I have used all of the makeups.....but a couple years ago I had a mary kay party for a friend.and i bought some of that and im hooked!! I love that stuff..the lipstick dont come off easy. When im on a tight budget i hate to say it but I go to walmart and buy Rimmel and its actually good...its like 4 dollars a tube for the foundation and 4 for the lipstick. I have used alot of brands but I like these 2.

I've never heard of Rimmel - what does the container look like?

Shhhhhh....

I have the biggest collection of 99 cent lip glosses.

:verygood:

Ok u go to the make up dept and its usually on the back wall..and its in a tan container with a brown lid...and the lipstick is pretty and its pretty good too...Rimmel....its alot cheaper than the rest of it...and its pretty good too.

I'm hooked on origins gloss. Oh my. Everyone I've bought it as a gift for has called about 2 minutes after applying it to rave. The colors are beautiful and it tastes like a very slightly tingly thin mint cookie. Yum! I've not yet fallen in love with a foundation but I have faith that someday, I'll meet "the one". lol

I use Rimmel foundation also! It is pretty nice for the cost and the coverage is good. I just bought some foundation through the Skin care line that I am selling and I will let you know who it feels.

Rimmel makes the best eye make up remover out there. It is always sold out though at wal-mart. I have a fetish for Benefit and Stila makeup/Brushes. Oh the money I could spend....:)

I use Covergirl tinted moisturizer or Neutrogena.....I don't like how heavy most foundations are but need something to even out my skin.......I think the best compliment I got was when my hubby said that he didn't think I wore makeup.....I said that was the purpose -- to look great without people knowing you wore a lot of makeup

I'm going to try using dark eye shadow instead of crayons for liner for spring for a lighter look....
