seriously wtf is this? i never heard of such a thing

I never heard of it hitting the lungs, but years ago my Mom's friend died the same way. Got up one morning, felt chest pain, went to the ER and in 6 hrs she was dead.
Not sure if it was the same bacteria as flesh eating, but a bacteria attacked her heart and bang, she was gone.

I'm telling you folks, it won't be the middle east, nuclear war on anything so dramatic, it's going to be bacteria and viruses that end human kind.
Too much use of antibiotics and these bacteria are becoming resistant.

I've heard of this bug in Africa. I think the movie Outbreak was based on one like this. Time magazine did a piece on it a number of years ago.

Well here's the thing, we all have these staph bacteria on our bodies, in our noses, ears, throat etc. It's all a matter of if there is an opened wound and if the immune system is being compromised. Then it can get us.

Maybe Swatdoc can add his take. Would be very interesting to hear what he has to say

Oh, you've never heard of the "flash eating bacteria", I thought you meant you never heard it entering the lungs.

Yeah, our Premier (similiar to your senators) had it. They had to cut his leg off.

I'm not sure, All I heard is they have no idea how he got it.
I'm guessing they will have to wait for an autopsy
