Maintaining grip on the deadlift

PoweredUp said:
I've always used the mixed grip. It's just now that I'm inching closer to 400 pounds and niether my bare hands or gloves can keep a firm grasp of the bar. It typically starts to slip around the 4th rep and I know that I still have a solid 1-2 reps left that I'm leaving on the gym floor. Hopefully the chalk will solve the problem!

Do you have good bars at your gym? Olympic bars usually suck, the knurling ain't like it should be.

Olympic bars are standard....offcourse you have those thin cheap bars, but they're not that good

Chalk adds 20% to all lifts including tricep kick backs. Learn to hook grip. High rep DB rows. Hex head DB holds. Wrist roller with chains. Rack pulls with five second holds at the top. Continue to pull weekly. Do Farmer walks. Anything with a thick bar. When using an alternating grip switch hand positions with each set. Good luck pull fast.

Triceps kickbacks?!?!

You've got to be kidding me. We're talking about power moves here....and power lifting...what's dead moves like kickbacks got to do with it?!

Pls don't think I'm flaming or anything, just find it weird that you bring triceps kickbacks into this...
