Lurker finally speaks out

Shame

New member
Hey guys...I've been a member of this site for probably damn near 3-4 years but just never post here....I like reading what others have to say more. Some good info here.

Anyways, a little background on myself, 5'9, 215lbs right now....BF is probably in the neighborhood of 11-13% right now, doesn't bug me much really....Trying to start cutting up right now but here's my issue:

I came to a realization this weekend that it's time for me to mix things up. I have been doing the old "one body part a day, 5 days a week" deal for like 3-4 years now....

My arms are definitely my strong point but when I look at myself I can honestly say I have never had big quads or wide lats...and that's something I think I'm gonna gun for finally...devote all my attention to it.

THUS....what do you guys think of this...

Monday: Squat day & Ab, a few peripheral exercises but mainly just sets of heavy squats....kinda like a day of focusing on my "core" region

Tuesday: Deadlift & Cleans day, a few peripheral exercises but mainly just sets of heavy deads & cleans

Wednesday: A chest day or maybe an arm day, kinda like a light day to make sure those "pretty" parts get some attention during the week

Thursday: Squat/abs again

Friday: Deadlift / Cleans again

Sat/Sun: off

Cardio 4x's a week, every other day

Dietwise I'm fine, I never have a problem working out a good diet for cutting....

I realize the ideal thing would be for me to take wednesday off and lift on a weekend day but it's not practical for me with my lifestyle...I can really only get into the gym on weekdays and I like that.

So anyways what do you guys think of this? I want to focus on my lats and legs this time....do you think my other muscle groups (chest/arms) will get hit enough indirectly with this?

I see afew problems, too many muscle groups overlapping one and another.

Monday: Squats+light powercleans+ham excercises
Tues: Chest/tris
Wens:rest
Thu: Heavy deads+ light squats+medium powercleans and accessory back excercises
Fri: Shoulders/bis
Sat:rest
Sun: rest

Just my thought

Where's the lat stuff? Rows and pulldowns (or pullups) should be the staple of your back program. If deadlifting is all you do it's no wonder lats are the issue.
