I cant even sit on the damn throne. I have to lower myself over the course of like 30 seconds then fall hoping no one hears me yell. My glutes are thrashified! I wonder what they think when I let out a scream from the mens room?

was doing progressives today at the gym just trying to feel that exact love.

Funny thing is my quads feel abused, but nothing more than usual, but my glutes?!? GOOOD GAWD!
 
I remember some beater wearing kids snickering at me once doing lunges
with heavy DB's and so I asked the leader of the pack to come over and try doing 15 with me directing good form..

He was straining by 10 and I heard nothing else from them after that..

Lunges are one of the most disrespected girlie style movements I know of,
and will tear you up if done right..
 
We women do lunges all the time to keep our asses from sagging. Granted, I can't load on as much weight as you, but their just as effective. I feel your pain...If I use a heavy load, I can't sit down for two days.

i was going ass-to-da-floor with heavy squats, then lunges, knee to the floor. I am building a butt to end all butts. I have a quest, I have a target date, I have the power.
 
No dhit.....I deep lunged my way across the gym and back with 135 after my last leg w/o.....I was sore for 6 days
 
Dude at the gym last week was doing BB lunges with rather strict but amusing looking form. There was just something about the way he lifted the "front" leg every time, he brought it straight up about a foot before kicking it forward, it looked exactly like John Cleese from the "Ministry of Funny Walks" sketch.
 
I HATE lunges and won't do them..... going low with squats, etc is doing what I need to and all the lunges in the world won't get rid of loose skin.....

Well I know that, but my point was is that squats + the other exercises I'm doing are enough....
 
If a change up exercise slays me, I know that my usual routine is simply not hitting that muscle group effectively. It's good to feel the way I do right now. Makes me hornier than termite in a woodpile, but it's still good.

I'm a sucker for the pain, too. Walking around with sore glutes all day is akin to walking around sore from a whole lota sex the night before. :verygood:

Lunges will do as much for the glutes as squats and you get better quad stimulation.....
