Lower Back Pain??

My lower back has been hurting me since April. Really bad at sometimes. I can even remember the day and what I was doing. It was April 16 and I was in the middle of a singles tennis match and it started to hurt. Well I eventually went to a Physical Therapist and she said that my hips were out of line and she supposedly fixed and it and I kept going for a little while longer and then she released me. Well not too long after it started hurting again and it continues to hurt me really bad. Bad enough to where I can't run, lift, or play tennis which I need to be doing cause I'm getting ready to go to college on a tennis scholarship. I can't stand for a long time either cause it'll hurt so bad that I can't stand it. What should I be doing in order to get this fixed? Are hips really out of line? Should I be doing excersises to strengthen my core?

hips can be out of alignment...check out a chiropractor, get xrays and if doesn't clear up get an MRI, work your abs as well crunches etc.

go see an Orthopaedic Surgeon for an examination of your spine. i went recently due to lower back pain that had been going on for 6-8 months and as it turns out i have a muscle sprain/strain in the lower back area along with weakness in my hip flexors and the muscles in my lower back. likely from the severe arch in my lower back. the doc sent me to a PT for an eval i had last week and i'll be continuing for 4 weeks to see about strengthening those weak spots in order to alleviate unnecessary stress on the lower back. muscle relaxants dont really do the trick though.
but you may have a disk issue. is it more painful on one side than on the other?

I agree with all but following all therapy and rehab and testing,MRI,CAT,and a Mylogram (CAT with Dye) make certain to get no fewer then 2 opinions and do not allow an orthopedic surgeon only to perform your lumbar surgery if needed. The best Docs appreciate each other and a neurosurgeon and neuro team,is essential.Generally The neurosurgeon and orthopedic will work side by side.Except nothing less!Trust me on this subject!Good luck and take action after months go by.

The best thing you should do is see a ortho that you really trust sounds like you have either a disk out of whack or maybe because of the stroke of your swing you tore or strained the ligaments and tendons of your lumbar spine. Check and see your family history if you have a pre-disposition for arthritis . believe it or not your lumbar spine is very acceptable to certain forms of arthritis. like in my case not even 40 yet and I have it in my neck and spine and I've been getting epidural injections to get the movement back in my spine but for you that's a last measure.
Hey if all else fails see a certified pain management Doc. feel better.FMT

I would go see a Chiropractor before an Ortho IMHO

Surgery is the last thing you want, especially if you dont need it.

I recently hurt lower back doing heavy barbell rows. It feels like the tendon that ties the spinal erectors to the pelvis. I can't do any back work that doesn't support chest when lower back is involved i.e. barbell rows...

I have to be careful on leg day too cause that aggravates it. Its been two weeks and still nagging when I move and just want it to go away. Its definitely not muscle pain and not disc so I think its tendon ligament related.

I've used ice and heat and creams but I'm guessing only time will help.

Any ideas?
