low testosterone

hi guys i have a questiom about a test that my docter did on me . before i was plced on trt i had a test done that measures your free testostone and mine was at 166 and the range was between 400-1200.4weeks later after using testim i had to get another blood test but this time it measured my free testosterone in percentages mine was at 4.98% and the range was between 1.68%-7.58% i am confused because i dont know what the percenge would be if it was coverted into the first test i had done were my free test was 166. plz hel thanks j

Sounds like the 166 represented your total testosterone, because the range you quoted sounds about right for the "normal" range for total testosterone...I'm not an expert on this by any means, but I just had mine done and I was at 340 (total testosterone), low enough to qualify me for TRT as well.
