How can I stop this? I want to lose the gut and body fat around the lower abs but I don't want to mess with carbs at all. I want to stay away from carbs.

Any adice.

Meal 1 8 eggs (7 whites) maybe lean turkey bacon
Meal 2 Tuna
Meal 3 Chicken breast, brown rice, veggies
Meal 4 Maybe a bowl of oats, protein shake
Meal 5 (post workout) Lean steak or chicken, veggies(shake
Meal 6 shake

My protein only has 17 grams of protein a serving and I take 2 scoops after workouts.

I have a nutragrain health bar only for carbs for post workout 20grams of carbs.

I take flaxoil pills (first time buying falx, could find the liquid) and I take about 4 of them a day.

Any other advice for carbs, I don't want to eat breads at all right now, I want to cut up.

I am currently 5'11 and 196.

you have to make sacrifices when cutting up, yes you will lose some strength when you cut, it will be much easier to regain the strength loss though when you are done cutting on to maintaining and bulking than gaining it in the first place though.

It seems like you are getting both very low carbs and fats, you need one for energy. When cutting I prefer to go high protein, med fats, and low carbs. Without using either carbs or fats for energy you'll be using protein, which is a pretty expensive way to get your energy, plus the protein is being used to fuel your body instead of aiding building muscle. So on a diet like this you're going to lose tons of muscle, have lower test levels, and not lose as much fat as if you were on a diet that was higher in fat.

I am on a similar diet except I'm getting much more fat and my strength has gone up even though I've lost 9lbs in about 4 weeks. Try to get your Omega-3s primarily. Try flax oil and nuts and get other fat from your protein sources, Good luck.

yes... when going low carb you should be making 50% of your diet FAT...

I know it sounds strange but it takes fat to burn fat...

I know I probaly sound like an advert :)

Why not go on the Eas Body for life challenge??? Its a 12 week program where you diet and train for 6 days (monday to saturday) and you have a FREE day on sunday where you may eat whatever you want.

Its not a gimmic coz I know first hand, Ive been on the challenge for about 2 weeks now (well on sunday it will be 2 weeks) and im already starting to see an improvement in both my weight, bodyfat % as well as physical strength and fitness.

Firstly get yourself the Bill Philliips Body for life book form your newsagent - you dont need it but I think its excellent it explains everything you need to know about diet and exercise and shows you different ways to improve your overall well being. The book includes all the diets and exercise you need for the challenge

Go to www.bodyforlife.com and register for the challenge, after you register you need to take your before pics and then in weeks time take your pic again and send them. You stand a chance to win 1Million Dollars so its definately kewl!!!

GOOD LUCK :)

I fry in Olive oil my eggs and so forth.

I take flaxoil three times a day.

I take peanut butter in my shakes.

When I cut I do a low carb diet BUT I spread them out more evenly thru the day. I have learned that I can keep my energy up by eating some carbs with every meal (a piece of fruit or small carb serving). If I miss a single serving I lose altitude for the next couple hours till my next meal. And I agree you need either more carbs or fat in your diet.
