Low Box or Reverse GM?

2Shy

New member
I'm going into the second 3 weeks of my WSB program and need to switch up my main and secondary moves. I did just below parallel box squats as a main move and arched back GMs for a secondary prior to this.

I already plan on doing rack deadlifts for my primary move but am undecided on the secondary.

I definitely need to work on going lower in my squat. If I select low box squats, will I be giving my body enough time to recover from 3 weeks of heavy squatting? Should I do the reverse GMs (probably not what these are called--where you start with the bar low so that you begin the movement with lifting the bar back and up rather than bending over)?

Suggestions?

(I start tonight, so help will be greatly appreciated!)

how about front squats or zerchers for your secondary move?

and the gms your talking about. do you mean chain suspended good mornings, or rack good mornings?

Never done front squats or zerchers. Not sure I'm coordinated enough for zerchers yet. I'm kind of a klutz. Front squats are a possibility.

I'm talking about rack good mornings. Are those what they're called? Don't have access to chains, although I did those once with the Asylum crew and really liked them.

So, from what I can gather, so long as I don't do the exact same move (for me a 12" box squat) even though it is still a squat, I won't be over working.

Doing Westside, btw.

Thanks for the suggestions. I really like GMs. I really want to improve my flexibility with the squat and go lower than I have been.

And I am SO looking forward to deads again. I really like those. :D
