Losing Water Weight Fast!

Anyone have tips that WORK at losing water weight FAST? I want to drop as much sub-q water as possible for something I have this Sunday. Will be only a one day event, this is nothing long term.

I know dandelion root, cut salt, up potassium, cut water out, etc. But how exactly should I go about it?

Any good tips? :)

A fat fast with taraxatone and dandelion tea, and GALLONS of water. :)

You "know" cut water out?!? That's the worst thing you could do!

Regular dandelions rock, if you can get them from gourmet or upscale grocery stores. Don't cut back on water--your body wil expertly regulate itself by retaining even more. Dandelion keeps your potassium levels stable.

If you are not cutting out vegetables, switch to lots of parsley (on tomatoes is my fave), dandelions, cucumbers, artichokes.

What I do, which works VERY well for me...

At least two days out from the "event": cut carbs entirely, except for the bell pepper at breakfast. I should clarify, though, that my diet isn't rich in carbs to begin with - only broccoli, bell peppers, green beans, and sometimes tomatoes. These veggies are rich in valuable electrolytes, so I mostly cut them to reduce abdomen size. I can go from flat as a fritter with veins in my abs to looking a few months pregnant with a good healthy serving of veggies. Anyway, drink LOTS of water, 2 gallons or so, and lift hard to deplete glycogen stores. Light, long-duration cardio too if I can manage it.

One day out: Continuing to drink as much water as I can put down, still limiting my carbs to only the pepper in the morning. Take twice my usual Glucorell-R dose with every meal, and 200mg before bed regardless of the presence of food. Also take 1.5 grams of Uva Ursi, and 1.5 grams of Dandelion Root, four times a day. No lifting today, only light, long-duration cardio.

Day of: Rub the sleep out of my eyes upon waking, since I've been up all night going to the bathroom. Still double the Glucorell-R dose, and take the same amounts of Uva Ursi and Dandelion with breakfast. ONLY enough water with breakfast to digest vitamins (this is about 12 ounces for me), and tiny 2 ounce sips throughout the day just to keep my mouth from turning into the Gobi Desert. And it should go without saying, but after the event, I drink water like mad to rehydrate myself.

You're on Thermorexin, aren't you Daisy? That stuff strips the water off nicely, too.

thanks for the advice - with the r-ala; i gather it is not necessary to have carbs with the r-ala? Does it have any side effects if you dont? I have been taking it for a while now and find i get bloated - though this may just be from the carbs. (most likely).

Some people experience reactive hypoglycemia and get very sleepy or nauseous if they don't take r-ALA with some carbs. Joint soreness and dry skin are also possible side effects if you don't take enough Biotin with it.

I may be a rare exception, because neither of these happen to me - I just pee a lot and look really cut. :) It's pricey stuff, though, so I wouldn't recommend chronically doubling the dose.

Spatts - I went looking for your thread about dropping water for the wedding you were going to be in, and couldn't find it. :( Any idea of where it might have gone?

No...weird.

Basically I had nothing but 1/2 protein and 1/2 fat (udos) shakes for a total of 1200 cals a day for a few days. I was never hungry because of the fat. I wouldn't recommend it long term, but it worked like a charm for the wedding.

Ceebs,

Could you please list an example of the foods that you would eat in those two days? I need to try this because I can gain alot of water with the quickness in no time.

thanks!:D

I meant in the few hours leading up to the event. Sorry, I wasn't clear. Definately planning on drinking even MORE than normal amount of water. Gonna be tough, I already drink 1-2 gal a day, but I'll do it!

Thanks everyone. I hate to do this, but I have to, those few pounds of water really make a difference. I am not looking forward to Sunday - absolutely hate being dehydrated. Plus, I have to fly (only an hour) while dehydrated. Ugh.

As of today, all startchy carbs are cut except I am having 1/2c CoW in the AM until Friday morning. Only carbs rest of day are green beans and the little that is in my shakes. Will switch to asparagus later in the week - that has natural diuretic effects, right?

Fresh parsley is added to my lean turkey, and will mix it in with my egg whites. Will go pick up some bell peppers to mix it up! :)

My "normal" diet is higher in sodium, so I know cutting that out will immediately get some water off. Think I should cut it out NOW or wait a couple days? How about add'l potassium supplementation? Thoughts?

CEEBS - you add GlucorellR to even meals with only veggies? It does make me sleepy, so I have to watch it, but will start to add more. Yes, on Thermorexin, which has done well with keeping water down. BUT, been on a carb-fest for a couple days. Blech. That, coupled with my period, is causing some water weight gain.

Thanks again.

Once I bought "Water Pills" at GNC to try them out, and they have worked really fine when I want to get rid of that water. I took them like two days before, one with each meal. And as some people already mentioned, I drank lots of water (min 3.5 liters) few days before.

You could also add lemon juice to your water and eat a lemon the night before. This has always worked well for me. Lemon's are another one of nature's mild diuretics.

cut a hole in the middle of a fluffy white gym towel, put it over your head, then put a garbage bag on top of that, just tear some holes for head and arms, then a sweat top or rack top over that.

Alot of fighters do this when they are trainning for a fight.
If you ever trainned for wrestling or BOXING, you know exactly what Im talking about.

When you watch a good pro boxing match other then heavy weights, listen for what they weighed in at and what was there weight the night of the fight. I've seen boxers gain almost 20 pounds in 24 hours.

So if your desperate and this is temperary, I would sudgest trying this method.
Before you do, make sure you freez alot of ice cubes, because you cant drink the water back and sucking on the ice cubes help your body to adjust.
