Looking for a good home theater system, 2 many

at the risk of enraging db, almost 2 years after purchasing it i am STILL well pleased with the bose lifestyle home theatre system.

The room it's going in isn't a full-time rec area so I don't need a multi-gazillion dollar system. Basically im talking about something to hook up to a tv, not really a stereo system so to speak. I am way behind the times, putting this stuff in for my wife mainly I have no idea on any of this stuff anymore. My idea of hi-fi is my old Optimus receiver/amp out in the barn with my 15" technics speakers lol. Blu ray? WTF is that?

Although it is out of your price range, Infinity has the best shit ot their.

Their Cascade series is the bomb. Top end price, but sounds incredible.

Infinty is made by Harman International, who also makes all the Harman Kardon sound systems for high end luxury cars such as BMW and Mercedes. JBL, which is used for most professional venues for concerts and stuff is also made by Harman. Their sound technologies are unmatched and dominate the Audio Industry market because they are the best.

I am currently remodeling the upstairs rec room, a rather large area, that has a large projection tv and will consider something better for up there. I don't want to go overboard on this other area because it's probably not going to get used very much when the main area is complete. I actually want to consider building some of my own stuff, including wall mount speakers and such and this site I posted has tons of info. It also has a very strange similarity to EF's webpage design. Of course since I don't visit forums/blogs very often perhaps this design is fairly standard I don't know.

Based on your price range, you're looking at a 'home theatre in a box' solution. Everything I've seen indicates that Yamaha makes decent HTIB systems that sound better than what you get from Sony for the same price.
