like my good friend Brad and I were discussing in my thread before it was deleted, when it actually turned into a productive thread.

who has ever had time when you sit alone thinking and remember a memory you have long forgotten,or heard a song thats sparked a happy memory in your life.

if so please post about it,id be interested in hearing it.

something that just crossed my mind was a song I heard when I got a tattoo that my best friend designed for me, and to put something on my body he designed in my mind solidified our friendship and now our friendship means even more to me because of that and ill never forget it because this beautiful work of art that he put so much into is on me forever.

I was speaking to a friend of mine about buying half a cow for the meat and I remembered the time I raised two baby chicks in Nepal. I was 8 at the time. I remember many happy memories from my childhood, but that was definately one.

Another good memory. Getting my ass beat by my Dad for getting a question wrong on one of his tests. He tutored me after school in the next grade. Good lesson.

ya i try not to look back on the bad memories of my childhood, unfortunately there are some parts of it where thats all I remember,my parents have a really bad marriage and they dont belong together, and the fighting is what I remember from most of my childhood, and the first time I decided I was a man and was going to stand up for my mother

Bob's Big Boy Restaurants

Whenever I see one, I think of the summer family trips. I come from a family that loves to eat and hates to workout. Every road trip always had a stop at Bob's Big Boy at the Thomas Edison Rest Stop on the NJ Turnpike. That rest stop is, like, 15-20 minutes outside of the city & my mom always packed her fried chicken, some deli meats, macaroni salad, potato salad, chips, etc., so it wasn't like they were starving (or didn't have food) and had to stop. I think its something else now, but my parents HAD to stop there.

It's like what the pastor at my gmother's funeral said today. Life is all about relationships. I have many fond memories of going over to my granny and grandmother's houses. They were always happy to see me and they always wanted to feed me. I would get very excited as a child when we would make the drive from Houston to Dallas to visit my grandparents. It was only about twice a year, but things like that, you never forget. My grandmother crossed over to the other side. I still wonder what happens when you die. I wish she could let me know.

The pastor said that my grandfather will be waiting on the other side for her. They were married nearly 60 years. She was 15 and he was 21 when they married. They would have stayed together for eternity. It makes me sad that I'll never know what that's like.

yes you will,it may not be with a lover but there will be someone on the other side to share eternity with who cares just as much

At a certain time, we lived in a farmhouse. I remember my brother & I lamenting & lounging around on the front porch , wondering when we were gonna leave to visit my grandparents, or go to the beach.
It was so tragic, all the waiting we did, LOL & all Dad would say is "shortly".
My maternal grandparents were nasty fuckers to everyone that knew them, but to my brother & I they were gold. Just remember that whenever you see a miserable S.O.B., that somewhere somebody loves them.
