This is his explanation

1. The innermost plates are 25 kg (55 lbs), which are regular sized plates; that is, they are the same dimensions as standard size 20 kgs (45's) would be.

2. The other plates are rubber studded plates from Techno Gym, which are not standard size.

3. Therefore: 20 kg (bar) + 2 x 25 + 6 x 20 + 8 x 10 = 270 kg / ~ 600 lbs.

Those skinny punks need some of this...

I'd say 20kg bar + 2 x 20 + 6 x 15 + 8 x 10 = way less than 270/600

There are 2 types of Olympic bars available now. The original at 45lbs and one made in China that is 33lbs and will bend very easily.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt his squat would be max 365lbs or 352 if it is the Chinese bar.

I squat 407 1/2 for my warm up before my heavy squat and even then stepping back is not that easy to control.

as per deadlift 600lbs not a chance. Usually a squat will be relative to a deadlift in your abilities. So in theory his squat should be around 600lbs as well.
