You know it bugs the hell out of me that people think they have a right to live at their parents home for extended periods for free. You say that you will lose some freedom as well as having to pay them. Well I'm sure that your parents will be losing some freedom too. I also wonder how much extra work your parents will have to do, and how much higher the bills will be if you were to live with them.

Bottom line is this, if you think that the savings you will make by living at home rather than in an apartment (remember to include bills) aren't worth the extra hassle, then go get an apartment. I think that if you are considering getting married then you should be finding your own place anyhow.

Your parents don't owe you shit. I agree that it is just as likely that they will save the cash for you and give it to you later, since they don't really need your $150. Read your posts---everything is about what YOU want, and what YOU want to do, and how YOU feel. You even piss on the $200-$300 that they give you at Christmas. Its worth the $150 per month just for the fuckpad that you think your parents owe you.

YOU bought a car? Bullshit. You dad bought a car for you and took the risk that you might not repay him.

YOU paid for your college education? You said you got loans, so you haven't paid for shit yet.

I'm the parent of a college student who is currently home on break. Frankly, I love to see him but also love to see him go and I am sure your parents are no different. Since he has been gone I have become quite accustomed to having sex anywhere in my house that I feel like it and sitting in my hot tub naked. If he wanted to move home I would charge him simply for the inconvenience.
We love you but we don't want you back and if we do let you come back we want it to be uncomfortable enough that you will get out SOON!!!

His parents are chargin him 150 a month for rent for him to STILL LIVE WITH THEIR RULES. This is totally different than giving them money and being able to do what he wants like if he lived on his own, they are rippping him off straight up. Having adult children in the house is a HUGE pain in the ass for the parents. Just ask mine. LOL

When I was still living with mine, the rules were this:

1) go to school and don't pay rent

2)don't go to school and pay rent

I took a year off after high school and paid 100$ a month. This was in 1987. When I went back to University my parents gave me all my rent money back to use as tuition for school and to help buy books.

I think the real question is this: Would you charge YOUR parents to stay with you for a few months if they needed to? I doubt it. (I seriously hope not.) Seems like the same thing to me. Would it be an inconvenience? Yes. Could you look them in the eye and turn them away if they didn't want to pay the $150 that you don't even need? No.
