hey bro's just had blood work done, three of the liver test were high.im currently taking 800mgs of eq a week and 400mgs of test, doc said to stop. what should i do ???

how high are they?.....some elevation is expected and of course the doc is going to tell you to stop....post the results for one of the docs on the board.....

Also, did you get any baseline LFT tests done prior to your cycle? And is there anything else you were doing that could explain the elevations?

Don't panic yet, but post your specific numbers.

When I usually go on I take the following precautions : Cranberry extract, Chlorophyll, Evening Primrose Oil, Milk Thistle and the work great!! Give it a shot if you havent already and maybe cut down on the doses for a little to get things better!!

Well,if we make some assumptions that we are talking about ALT and AST values then I would characterize these as slightly elevated, basically a Grade I Liver Enzyme elevation. In the absence of symptoms, this is not really worth worrying about. It could easily be explained by intense weight training or a high protein diet or that might just be your baseline values.

Your best bet is to get a follow up LFT in about 2 weeks and see if anything has changed. If you have any symptoms in the meantime (nausea, headaches, upper right quadrant abdominal pain, myalgias, lethargy, etc), call your doc.

Hope this helps.

Everyone should remember though that ALT and AST values are simply markers for liver damage. Specifically, they are measuring serum liver enzyme values which indicate hepatic cell damage - the more enzymes in the bloodstream, the more cells that have been destroyed.

The most important thing to monitor, in addition to the LFT report, is clinical symptoms consistent with hepatotoxicity. Someone might have 1-2 x ULN (upper limit if normal, or around 50-100) and be fine while someone else with similar values might be jaundiced with upper right quadrant pain and heading towards a fulminant hepatic event.

Lab values are important, but listen to your body too and don't think for a minute that Milk Thistle will help if your liver decides it does not like a drug.

Peace.
