i had an extra car just to putz around in... it was an old beater


turns out it needed a new transmission and clutch.. so i figured i was just gonna scrap it...

the owner of the garage calls and says he can't find the keys for it anymore... So i'm like wtf!?!?!!? and he says he'll look for them and call me back...

two weeks pass and he calls me back and says he junked the car and got me some money for it and he found a briefcase in the trunk and he has that for me...

the only thing the stupid fucker didn't realize was that my fishing license, a hat, prolly around $10 in change and god knows what else was in the glove compartment was sent with it to the junk yard

Legally...no, without your consent, he can't make that decision for you. But is it worth suing over a car worth scrap money? Doubtful. Just tell him he owes you a couple of free oil changes or something...I'm sure he'll go for that when he finds out that he cost you $$$ by making that decision.

exactly... i mean i could just say i brought the car in for an oil change and he junked it... but it's prolly not worth fighting in small claims court because even if i would win he would probably never pay...

i still have it... the guy who works with my mom( who is good friends with this mechanic) is furious that he did this... so he is going down to the juink yard to get all of this settled... i will have an update later this week
