Cost of liposuction depends on what needs to be done, how much of the body is to be sculpted, and can vary from surgeon to surgeon and different parts of the world. Gynecomastia surgery typically involves more than just liposuction. When considering the cost of liposuction, you need to factor in operating room costs, anesthesia, garments, after surgery medication, possible nursing, and possible travel. Picking your doctor is important as I have seen so many complications from other doctors claiming to have expertise in liposuction. Some are not board certified, others have no training, nor credentials in plastic surgery. Cost of secondary surgery can be much more. You can check if a doctor has Board Certification here. What parts are you thinking of having done?? The more parts = the more money..... then if you need a touch up, that'll be more too..... Usually the fee is "global" meaning that everything for the surgery is covered in one fee.....

Current quote on waist/back (the waist is kinda considered the back cuz the PS has to sculpt from the back forward) $3950

Just keep in mind you'll have to wear a compression garment for about 2-4 months afterwards & it can be hot, so you don't want to get this done in the summer cuz you'll sweat to death....

how would you be able to tell a good suregon from a bad one? one who is certified and one who isn't? can't you get bogus certificates online these days?

It doesn't necessarily "come back" but if you gain weight after having the lipo the areas not lipo'd can "appear" to have gained more fat than the areas lipo'd...... During lipo, actual fat cells are removed..... So, after surgery, the areas treated have fewer fat cells than other areas.....

So, if you gain weight after surgery & didn't have lipo on your waist but DID have lipo on your abs & hips, your waist will appear to be fatter than the lipo'd areas.... It's important to keep a healthy diet after lipo to avoid appearing uneven....

However, touch ups are common afterwards, as lipo is an "art" and the sculpting can be very fine -- thus it's a good idea to heal for 6 months, then in the event you're still not happy, a touch up can be done at that time....

With women & lipo --> it's important how much the PS leaves behind; while with men it's important how much they remove...... women can tend to have "lumpiness" or "waviness" if too much is removed.....

For any cosmetic surgery (any surgery .. but talking cosmetic here) you can do 3 things -- research the particular surgery so you know what it can & can't do for you before you just decide its an easier fix than, say a good diet & training. Second locate some good docs. How do you determine who's a "good" doc -- get personal references, research their background for any malpractice suits. If you go to www.implantinfo.com there is an excellent article about how you go about locating & checking doctors. Third, set up some appointments for consultations and see how the doc interacts with you, how comfortable are you with him/her, ask about the procedure, you can ask if they've ever encountered any problems with the procedure, ask what do they do if there is a problem with anesthesia (i.e. do they have hospital privileges, can they access a hospital quickly, do they have resources to handle such an emergency in their office). These consultations should be free and with no commitment on your part until you decide to go forward w/ the procedure. For ex, I had one guy tell me he woudln't let me talk to any of his patients for their experience w/ a breast enhancement until I paid the downpayment for the procedure. A good doc will not just give out the names of his patients but will instead take your name & ask some of his patients to contact you if they are comfortable w/ it to discuss their experience. The cost is probably going to vary regionally -- NY/FL/LA may be slightly more expensive, Vegas may be cheaper. Don't trust the cheap ones. If the pricing is not in line (too low OR too high) with the other prices you've heard for an area, there's probably somethign funny going on, e.g. lots of strippers getting cheap boob jobs by some guy who taps the stripper market in Vegas.

Plastic surgery is still surgery, regardless of its cosmetic nature...... It is NOT something to "Cheap Out" on.... save your money elsewhere.....

In the case that the fat that you are looking to reduce isn't a very large amount there is an alternative, Lipostabil. It is a new product that I have personally seen work!! I have a friend who is currently taking it and the results are amazing. He is fit to begin with but he almost had a double chin and you could see his abs but they weren't pronouced. Now his 2nd chin is gone and his abs are very much separated!!! the difference is amazing. I also have a co-worker that goes to a doc in florida that uses it (alhough it is not fda approved) and she enjoys the results as well although she is short and big-boned (to be polite). I have some on order so I will soon hope to be another testimonial to it's results. One other thought - the doctor might address...when you take it from one area - it seems to find another area to expand in - even though the fat loss in the lipo'd area is gone for good. I think there's something to be said for fat set point. I have seen a few female clients have this happen...get butt and thighs done and then the waist and flank area gets bigger - then they go back...get that done and the arms get fat where they had none before...some times seems like they're in a never ending cycle of lipo. It does take a while in the compression garments too.

And the compression garments are very hot, so don't get it done in warm weather!! And be prepared to not be able to exercise for a few weeks.
