Lifting While Sick

JUST GOT THE FLU FUCKING SINTHOMS... aching body, liquid nose, feel like shit.
I have a show in November, I wnted to bust my ass off to get me into the best shape...
what would you recomend?
lift even while sick at 100%
do not lift at all until feeling better
light at 50 % (because it is good to keep the body in movement).


what do u guys think?
 
i am in the same condition as you, got no idea what to do,i skipped yesterdays workout ..
 
this happend to my in the winter....i was on a cycle of BTG var and paisd a fortune. i was gettinh sick results........so i ask the same thing you just asked....as long as you dont have a fevor its ok to work out.....so thats what i did and i worked through it!
 
but working out slows down recovery since your body is in need of rest, in the other hand , a light workout would be nice, since it will give the body come extra energy and oxigen ...
 
Dont work out. You have to listen to your body and let it heal. It is like people that try to work through injuries. Nothing good will come of it bro. You will have crappy, worthless workouts if u r that sick and will only break yourself down further. Give your body time to heal and u will come back strong. Kepp eating as well as u can. Good luck.
 
Your body needs to be fully recovered. It cant fight infection and build muscle at the same time very well.

Let your body heal, listen to your body on this one bro...just keep eating and drink as much liquid as you can

Sure it can, maybe he's just got a cold, it's not like he's got something major where he's fever and shit like that. I've gotten colds before and still worked out, my workouts were just as good. Except for the runny nose. It's just a cold, get over it.

agreed! its a bitch, you dont feel like going, but once your there you might have a decent workout. i did just hated the snot that kept on runnin! that sucked! all i can say from my experience is im glad i worked throuh it.......if you have a fever then its a different story
 
most people don't know what having the true flu is. that is being infected with the influenza virus.

prox you probably have a cold. it is a little early for flu season. if it was the flu you would be too sick to be pondering whether or not you should work out at the gym..

if you have a cold take a few days off to rest and sleep. it won't be the end of the world. and who needs your germs all over the gym?
 
I'd workout if I had a cold, but the flu, you need rest. rest now and you'll be back to 100% so much faster. I couldn't imagine trying to workout through the flu.

Theres a difference in sniffles & feeling weak & bad.
If you feel a bug comming on "STOP"

I agree 100% w/ JJ.....

Rest and let your body heal accordingly, thus you will keep your gains and avoid overtraining etc.

Rest and take it easy for a minute, nugga......

The body will still recover, even if you train at the gym. It' not like it's going to slow down, body sure it's gotta repair muscles, but for the virus, that's the white cell's job.
