Lifting alone :*(

It's very difficult to push yourself as hard as possible without the help of other like-minded lifters. I used to lift primarily alone, and it is a world of difference when you have partners that push you.

Not sure of a way to "get past it"...just have to do the best with what you have, where you are.

No joke, I put the music so loud that it`s like someone`s screaming in your ear. Get`s me psyched up. but it`s a home gym so I can do that.

I lift primarily alone and prefer it that way personally. I dont like training with people, they socialize, and have different workout times and ideals usually and distract me.

I like my nomad jukebox, me and the weights, thats it.

I often workout alone and I have to agree that it takes an enourmous amount of focus and determination to get good workouts. It can be done! I do it every day I step into the gym!

There have been many times that I have worked out alone. You can do it. Everything you need is already inside you. You just have to find it.

hey i just saw this.....

i sort of lift alone... i have done so many times....

it depends on where you do this as well. i train in my own gym in my basement so sometimes i even prefer it alone cause i can get crazy and talk to myself without being asked to leave.

Think Safety: figure out exercises you can do that you wont kill yourself with if you get stuck.

box squats (you can bail backwards)

my #1 favorite: SUSPENDED CHAIN GOOD MORNINGS -- my favorite... load that weight up as heavy as you want and go for it.

speed benches w/bands....

-------------------

as someone else said, get that music so loud your ears bleed.

also, you will probably be able to find people to train with you on occasion if you look hard enough. it depends on what your goals are. you will need to find someone to bench with. i drive 2 hrs every other week to train some heavy ass bench. my bench went from 606 to 655 in 3 months. whats it worth to you?

best of luck.

I train squats and Dl work almost always by myself , but I drive to an hour and 10 minutes to Nazareth Barbell twice a week to bench. ( My bench went up 75+ pounds since jan.) I can't imagine doing shirt work without a couple(3) spotters, it really helps keep the weight off your face.

Btw: training at a place like Naz with Mike Miller, Bill Crawford, Bobby Fields, and the newest member of the 700 club Stan"Ox" Martin (and a host of others strong SOBs ) really keeps a fire under you ass and a good "nothing is impossible" vibe.

Find a powerlifting gym or a couple other guys in your area and get some help. Elite Fitness Systems in the past has posted guys addys who are looking for partners, give it a whirl.

Lifting alone can have its benefits and obvious drawbacks, such as underestimating your self from time to time. You need to be totally positive and KNOW you will own the fucking weight when you do it. Otherwise you will fail every time.

I lift "almost" alone with my only partner being my power rack. I am, however, about 1-1/2 hours from southside gym (billy mimnaugh, vinny dizenzo, ron dayton among others lift there) and would like to make the trip some day.

i lift alone all the tim ei have a certain time of day that i feel rested and ready to do it and no one else wants 2 wrk out so i do it by myself wit the music blaring and just push it out!!!
