Life Insurance Tests???? Help!!!

cutitup

New member
Hey Boys,

Lady is comin to do blood work, urine work etc. for Life Insurance on the mortgage- Am on 500 Test E and 450 EQ in 8th week. Will this show up on the tests or do they not look for gear?

Please advise if anyone has gone through this.

Thanks :mix:

They wont test for gear but will for weed, coke, and the usual suspects. If your cholesterol, BP, or any other result shows a little high (typical during use) you will get rated. This means that you will pay more for the same amount of insurance....and you're stuck with this for the next two years, at which point you can apply again for a reduced rate.

What are you getting whole, term? The recommendation is at least 7 times your salary.

We own 2 houses and one has not sold, so we had to get a co-signer for the second mortgage- so they asked if we could get life insurance (through the bank on the mortgage) just in case- even tho it is temporary till it sells. How long does it take for weed to get out of yer system??? Smoke a few Blunts here and there.

Can't recall exactly....but I think it's between 4-6 weeks. There are precautions via medication that can be taken to avoid positive results. My knowledge is outdated on this.....it's been at least a decade since I had any weed. Since the test is today....a little late for any pills. Only advice I have at this point is to drink water like hell!

Good luck! If you are not rated, now would be a good time to get some whole life (if you can afford it). Get a small policy with an additional rider that will allow you to add to the value as time goes on....at the same original rating. Just a thought!

Tests are actually Next weekend so i may be able to flush any THC left from weed out....thanks for info tho!

help4john is right. you don't need to worry about being tested for AAS but you should certainly worried about liver enzymes, cholesterol, and blood pressure being out of whack. unless you are someone immune to ANY changes in your vitals from AAS use expect an expensive rated (upcharged) policy and even a decline. see my thead about bloodwork results.

i am an insurance man and have written thousand of life policies over the years, and lost plenty due to declines from underwriting after bad bloodwork. cutitup cancel you bloodwork appointment and reschedule after being off for at least 6 to 8 weeks. your insurance man will not be happy but you must think of yourself. if your wife does not know about your usage you may have to fess up.

most carriers do not test for marijuana use, but there is a question on the application asking if you use it. you can lie of course but i always recommend you tell the truth on life/health application since your "misrepresentations" (aka lies) can come back to haunt you.

Cutitup....just read this in one of your other posts...
"what is taurine, and where do i get it (will it lower it considerably?)- my BP has been around 158/92 since i am on cycle.... and does it REALLY work or is there sumthin better to bring BP in check while on- i am also hypertensive so could be raising it also. Notified Doc and told him i am on and said to leave it till i am off then he will check it and advise if it does not go normal."

You will get rated and pay a fortune for life insurance. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

no. when you take out a life insurance policy there are a limited amount of tests that are performed. they do not test for steroids. lab work is expensive and it is impractical to test for every drug known to mankind.

frankly i do not know much about HG and t3. do they cause changes to your vitals? that is what you need to be concerned about.

I own an Insurance Agency and am very invovled with the life insurance lab tests. 1st, they do check for weed, and for agents that cover it up. Also you liver values and cholesterol will be out of alignment and they will want to know why, probably will rate you. Your blood pressure is also high, so since this is short term just pay for the cost, then next time you come clean for a while buy a 1 million dollar term policy that has the option of converting to a permanent form of life insurance and convert it as you have the money. this way you are locked into life insurance for life and do not need to worry about any more tests.

k thanks bro- good advice totally! it is jus till our second home sells as we had to get a co-signer and they wanted us to get coverage in case anythin happened before it sold.

not all companies have the same underwriting guidelines. the ones i write for do not test for marijuana. frankly i doubt many do as there is not much conclusive evidence that weed use affects mortality, as would tobacco or cocaine use...

i have had applicants admit to some marijuana use on their applications catand had no trouble getting the policy issued in standard ratings. admitted weed use would most likely disqualify someone for preferred rates.

I aint callin BS on anybody here, but shortly after my tests were done last year for life insurance I got a letter from my insurance company that stated because of my blood test results, my premium was going up about 15 bucks a month. At the time I was on Sus and winny. I never asked my agent to get the report because I didn't want him to know the particulars. I've had many blood tests while on and never had any problems until this one. Just my thoughts!

charlie you are the perfect example as why taking a life insurance exam is a terrible idea while on the juice. with the changes almost EVERYONE will see in blood pressure, liver enzymes, and cholesterol, even if temporary, will inevitably lead to a rated policy, and or decline.

been written life policies for 19 yrs and wgarrett is right on. im appointed with about 30 different co. and they all check for weed, if you turn up positive you get a smoker rate. about 20-40% more depending on age. based on your vitals you could get an ok rate or you could be screwed on this policy. good news is you can reapply in 2 yrs and get all the ratings removed. i had a good friend buy a policy while he was taking adrol, it got rated double the premium. 2 yrs later i was able to get back down to the best rate available.
