What tests can you have done to determine test and gh and igf1 levels, I'm 31 and I struggle to gain weight

Thanks.

As others have suggested, go to a doc and ask for the tests or you can go online to some sites and have them done yourself.

One possibility if everything tests out ok is insulin insensitivity. The only way to know is to get a fasting blood glucose check. I was prediabetic with blood glucose in the high 90s, which is insulin insensitive from years of eating poor high glycemic candies and carbs. A doctor will give you metformin if this is true, which lowers liver production of glucose. Cinnamon and alpha lipoic acid do similar things to improve insulin sensitivity with OTC supplements. NTBM also sells need2slin which works well too. Basically what leads to insulin insensitivity is eating when your muscle glycogen reserves are topped off. Cells start to dephosphorylate the insulin receptor when glycogen reserves are high. After a meal when blood sugar is rising and when not as many cells are shuttling in glucose (because the insulin receptor is deactivated from glycogen reserves being high), blood glucose will start to rise causing more insulin to be released (all this blood sugar and no place to put it!).

No offence, just wanna clear up the question and reason for the thread

hate to be the bearer of bad news but instead of worrying about your levels of X and Y.. you should be more concerned with diet. diet will 99% of the time determine X and Y. so even if X and Y tests show a problem what do you think the solution will be? DIET again.

your stats are 6 foot and 155.. obviously you have a fast metabolism. you should be reducing cardio or anything else that burns a lot of calories. and upping your food consumptiom.

i would also lift hard and heavy at the gym. work on your trunk.. squats, deadlifts, cleans. you will easily put on 25 pounds fast just doing that
