Well, I personally don't think a person can possibly gain 10 pounds of actual muscle, actual muscle, in 8 weeks, I think that is way high. :)

Very true and of course many people know this but don’t care. Case in point; back in my college days a bunch of us would head down to the beach to work for the summer. By the time July rolled around most of us were puffy and swole. I’ll always remember this dude giving my friend shit telling him that “…he was only big now because he was ‘on’…”, and my friend replying with, “Who gives a shit? I’m big now and that’s all that matters.” A short sighted attitude for sure, but when you’re young and you’re dumb this mind-set prevails.

Even now at my 'advanced age' I still want to look good for the summer and have been known to go a little overboard on my summer cycles. I bet a lot of others here do this as well. I am getting better though, and a good post like this serves as a nice reminder.
 
My Take...

It's not what you gain it's what you maintain....My weight never varies by more than 15-20 lbs on or off all year unless I diet.
I do a mild cycle of 1 injectable androgen 1 injectable anabolic and stagger in 2 4 week cycles of orals in the 12 weeks.....
Weight may reach 3 bills.

When off for 6-10 weeks I am on replacement therapy of TCYP, 300 mg every 10 days, i.e 150 mgs administered every 5 days.
and my weight never ever drops below 285..never. Because I never change anything but shorten my workout sessions a bit and reduce the weight a bit but still eat clean and very high protein moderate carbs moderat essential fats.

Water is not muscle to give you a good example I recently got some anaplexes-which is vet nilevar by jurox.
I was always fascinated with trying this compound because Bill Pearl said it was the only AAS he ever used "once" and gained 33 lbs.

Well I can attest to that because at 35 mgs a day for 2.5 weeks added to my 1.2 gram a week of Test Enant only cyle I went from 293 to 311, 18 lbs of seawater baby!
Stopped a few days ago because of course the BP was just way too high, and upped the lasix and BP meds to bring me back down to ~295.

Water is not muscle and 99% of the experienced lifters will be lucky enuff to gain 5-8 lbs of pure muscle a year.

Now body composition is another story I stay around 11-13% year round unless I diet..THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "CUTTING CYCLE", DIET IS THE KEY..WITH A LITTLE ASSISTANCE FROM THERMOGENIC COMPOUNDS OR gh-IF YOU ARE MORE ADVANCED.

I agree with most things you post but I think that you may have overlooked one aspect with regards to you post. A person's genetic limit (if there is such a thing). I gained about 25lbs of muscle (30lbs total) on my first cycle of 300mg of deca /wk for 8 weeks. I was well below my genetic limit and have since gained muscle naturally since then. I do agree with your thinking though. It all depends on one's goals. My goals are to be as strong as possible off cycle. I don't regard my gains while on cycle as an accomplishment but I am proud of how much strength I can reatain while off for 6 months.

This is the point that most people don't get. You can't depend on the steroids to do everything for you. BB takes a life long commitment to training hard, having the right diet and educating yourself. That is the hard part that most people do not want to commit themselves to. They're always looking for the easy way out. Steroids are not a joke. This not the type of thing you want to be playing with. The sides effects can be very damaging to the biological systems of the body and, if excessively used, permanent. Rely more on youself more than the juice. That's where the real gains come from.
 
no offense bro but 25lbs of muscle is highly unlikely, im not trashing your point, but that equals about 83% muscle from deca in 8 weeks. im guessing more than 5 lbs of that was fat and water, but explain more in detail bro.

I only lost 5lbs after the cycle and I definately lost some fat. I was 6'5" and 180lbs. Now I'm 240 and have been off since January. My bench went from 225 x2 to 275 x4 during that cycle too. That was only 3 years ago too.
 
Yeah, if you kept a 25 pounds of solid muscle from 300 mgs of deca in 8 weeks you are a true freak of nature. Maybe the added size helped you gain more weight (muscle and fat) afterward.

Macro: Seems like you're disagreeing just for the sake of being disagreeable -- or the fact that you don't WANT to agree.

jubel: I wouldn't call 30 years of exeperience "baseless." And your use of the word "usurp" is incorrect. I don't mind a differing opinion but if you have one, please accompany it with a point of some sort. It serves no purpose to just pull criticsm of of your ass.

To everyone else; thanks for the positive feedback. But I'm not looking for accolades. I'd just be happy if more people weren't so reckless with their health. I think that would do a lot to advance the proper use of anabolics.
 
The man's a genius. I don't necessarily agree with the 10 lb limit, as it's probably an arbitrary number he chose to use to make a point. I do think there's a law of diminishing returns past 8 weeks on cycle.
