Muscle is best maintained if gained in a slow steady manner. Five pounds a month would be astounding! But that doesn't seem to be good enough for a lot of people and I could never understand that.

agree, to a certain extent.

though your criticism of long cycles is unfounded.

by your line of thinking (the part that has merit) even better than 5lbs a month.. 2lbs a month for a year (thus by your own reasoning.. longer cycles are better)

longer slower more consistent gains

I would change one thing Nelson.

I would say the maximum gain would be aroung 12-14 lbs during any 8-10 WEEK PHASE.

Macro, you are correct in saying the generalization is too broad.

I think we would all agree that someone on Test for a year
straight will gain (and keep) more than 10 lbs however I am
quite sure that Nelson is referring to the "average" 8-10 week
cycle.

Other than that, excellent post Nelson. Very true indeed.

Good post Nelson. I think the main point was that juicing is addictive, and I'm not sure anyone will argue that. After only doing one cycle, I have planned to do only two more, but now I wonder if it will stop there. I'll take it one step farther, I even chose to stop smoking weed to make the most of my time on gear. And weed has been a big part of my life for a long time. I prefer that pump and euphoric feeling I get from being "on". I think that's why i choose to do longer cycles (10-12wks), more time on. even if I have to spend more time off, 12 weeks on is golden, i love it.

I will abstain from posting any comments...

Or is my abstaining ... actually... a comment? Hmm...

What did your biggest cycle look like, in terms of dosages? What was your longest? How much of it did you keep after being off completely?

Im going for slower more steady gains now. My first two cycles were 30+ lb gainers. I end up loosing most of it when all said and done (im constantly trying to loose fat and its insanely hard for me, it takes so long i loose a lot of muscle in the process i feel).
I eat WAY too many cals and put on fat. Sure 20lbs of muscle is good, but the 10-15lbs of fat with it takes me like 5 months to loose, hell, im stuck at 217 now and have been for like 2 months even while on thermorex......
Next time, ....only 400mg test a week along with 25mg dbol/day for say 5-6 weeks (lowest dose cycle yet, even a little lower than my first which was 400mg test and around 50mg dbol).
Eat very clean, up protein (fuck the seefood diet).....will be looking for 15 lean lbs. I figure the body can hold on to that better than say 20-25lbs......besides, i feel like shit when i put on 30 in like 2 months....

Slow and steady wins the race.

I really agree with this statment macro.

I also think that anti-e's, in small amounts, and clean diet even while bulking is essential while trying to make slower more consistant gains.

Where did your 10 pounds of mucle rule come from? I agree with alot of what you wrote. When you state baseless opinions as if they were facts it only serves to usurp your credibility.
