Let someone go from work today

Ok so 2 days ago I show up and have a message that the new guy feels sick or is on his period or something, and instead of calling in two days in advance, decides a message is better. Then he shows up late and parades around like he is dying, so we sent him home. He had a long drive, so he goes whining to the labor board and then calls yesterday demanding we pay him for 4 hours of work.

I informed him that he was not a good fit for the position he held, and that he needed to hit the road and take his easy bake oven home from the office kitchen.

Now he wants to arm wrestle me to keep his job....

Should I break his little arm?
