I suggest you buy the stuff from your "Friend" since it is cheaper than any of your other options, until you find another (cheaper) source (or go straight to this guy in the gym that he's getting it from).

Friednship is give and take, it doesnt sound like he was abusing the hookup. Do you demand compensation for everythign you do for your friends? If so that isn't friendship. Thats what friendships are about helping each other out. Would I have kicked him some $? No cuz I dont need his as anyways but seriously friends shouldn't have to expect to be paid to do favors for friends, this isn't a source/client relationship.
