Legs

After a week off with the Influenza......here we go.....

Sumo Squats - 415 - 5X5.........ATF!!!!!!!!!!!PR on 5X5
SLDL - 135 - 10X3.......2nd week, felt nice and comfy.
Seated Calf - 180 - 5X5
Clean & Press- 135 - 5X2

I was done in 40 minutes. Boy did I get a stretch in the hammies going ATF on the sumo squats. My hips are getting stronger little by little. I was exploding out of the hole, next week the weights go to 425. And so on and so on. Getting strong now (Rocky theme) lol. SLDL felt great. Really light but I need to have perfect form before I raise weight. No cardio. Any comments/questions are always welcome. :)

........btw, MODS or anyone else for that matter, if you would rather I post workouts in the "Training Journal" let me know. NOt trying to break toes here. :)

Polish, amazing you got your squats PR after a week off...must have been eating good then ;) only thing that I might recommend is dropping the weight down a little bit and hittin the calves for 5x15, most people dont respond well to lower reps on calves...but if you do, by all means, keep it up.

Damn man - for someone as tall as you are that makes it even more impressive!

I'm amazed - that puts that height argument out the door :)

Thanx fellas first off!
500-800lb squats
Makes me think of man move moutain. lol
btw, I love when girls can handle the pill. I can see her textbook form before she shoots. Hand placement and the confidence in her eyes. :)

Good PR!!!! But doing it after a week off with "the flu " tells me one definate thing....you are over training!

I know the first thing that comes to your mind is "BULLSHIT DEEPSQUAT"!!!!!

But think about it ...your "FLU" was not really the flu...it is one of the mechanizims that the body uses to get you to stop going to the gym...this is not a theory I pulled out of my ass , it is well known that many, colds, flues and sore threoats that weight trainers get are not caused by virus or bactiria...but the body, rebelling! Reread some of the posts by DC and Iron addict...you fit the mold perfectly.

I would agree. But you'd be surprised that just about NO ONE on this board thinks they are overtraining. Believe me I've tried.

Interesting viewpoint Deepsquat, truth is, I was sick, I got it from my brother who got it from his GF. Pass along kind of thing. Nice effort though. lol :)

Interesting concept, but I had the flu horribly for the last week and it all occured while I was on DC training. I HIGHLY doubt overtraining was the culprit. I know a ton of people who have been getting sick lately. Lets ease up on throwing the overtraining card at everything fellas.

I heard from a friend that when you have a little cold, or a higher temperature than usual, you temp to be strong and burn fat quicker. But in the case of a flu... it's a little too much.

i'm pretty sure i was a bit over trained which could lower my immune system a bit, however about a week ago i managed to develop a 3day fever and bronchitis, so i do there's some pathogenic activity goin on. not to mention like 5 other guys on my floor had a fever in the past wk or so.

got it from you brother:bigkiss: I see....

Good job on the pr, guess you need to eat more you skinny bastard.;) Keep it coming and make sure to relxa and go slow on the SLDL

So you think you can't overtrain while doing DC style training..ask the man himself , he will in all likelyhood tell you that you may have been overtrained.....overtraining also taxes the Auto Immune System...hence you will get sick easier.

To PolishHammer....just because your brother had it , doesn't mean that you jad to catch it...unless your immune system was depleted with over training???????
I know it is hard to convince anyone they are overtraining...DC style guys will be even harder to convince now....hell how can you do less then one set...the answer ...take another rest day!

I have taken the last 3 days off...scheduled off was Sat...Sun . had Migraine..( I am a cronic sufferer, so don't be a smart ass and say "YOUR OVERTRAINING") and Momday was ttoo wasted from the vomiting on Sun. to lift ...so will pick up where I left off, and probably be better for it.
I quote this from another sight

The most common symptom is fatigue. This may limit workouts and may be present at rest. The athlete may also become moody, easily irritated, have altered sleep patterns, become depressed, or lose the competitive desire and enthusiasm for the sport. Some will report decreased appetite and weight loss. Physical symptoms include persistent muscular soreness, increased frequency of viral illnesses, and increased incidence of injuries
