Left shoulder tendinitis, should I cut down on work out?

I have tendinitis in my both soulders, probably resulting from of a hit-and-run accident I had several years ago. My left leg and both clavicles were fractured and I was in therapy for several months.

When I started working out regularly, my both shoulders became very painful. Right shoulder was more painful, so I had an MRI done, and it showed only tendinitis, and no rotator cuff tear that I was worried about.

I started working out regularly 2 months ago, after an absence of a year or two. Now my left shoulder is really painful. Before my last workout, I took 800mg of Ibuprofen and I still had to grit my teeth.

I am doing high intensity (high weights, low volume) training and my strength is increasing. I really would like to continue this way. Do you think I should continue this way, or should I decrease weight and increase volume?

I feel your pain. My right shoulder has tendinitis that runs into the bicep, plus osteoarthritis. I'm hoping to enter a 3 lift powerlifting meet in Sept. The day after benching my right arm feels semi - paralyzed. Swimming in warm water helps a lot to relieve the stiffness.
That's all I got.
I've heard cortisone shots help - but i haven't tried that yet...

Yeah... I know how you feel man.. I had rotator cuff and labrum surgery on my right shoulder and also suffer from tendinitis in my left shoulder.. I have felt that band work and light weight (2 pound) exercises that target the specific area of the rotator cuff performed prework does help.. I would try some that for your "stretching" to get your rotator cuff warm and loose, which has helped me...

if its that bad that 800mg of ibuprofen didn't do anything i would cut out training upper body for a while.
hit legs a couple of times a week instead.
