What red lights? It's an interstate or other controlled access highway, there are no traffic lights in this video.
Nice the way the cop herded the offending left-lane bandit to where they belonged, then went along his way.

Hard to tell, to me "blow red lights" means running a traffic light. The lights on the geheimstatspolizei car are are blue and red.
As for "for no reason", the left lane hog was in violation of several NJ statutes:
39:4-88 "Keep Right Pass Left"
39:4-56 Delaying traffic prohibited
39:4-87 Overtaken vehicle to give way

I actually watched a cop give someone a ticket for hogging the left lane here in LA. Maybe people will learn to stay out of the fast lane one day.

That actually warmed my heart. I live in Florida and the senior citizens all do that shit here. They act like it's a traveling lane and just hunker down when they could save themselves and those of us who are not waiting for the grim reaper to take us away get to where we need to go. Like work. Middle lane is traveling lane, left lane is passing lane. Driving school 101.

I wanna hug that cop. Lart, I get annoyed with that too, but this guy was doing a service to humanity lol. If it was 100% self serving, once they got into the middle lane he would have just driven by. I hate people who cruise near the speed limit in the left lane....If you aren't passing cars on the right, you aren't supposed to be there. One of my biggest pet peeves.

Irritating for sure. If I see someone flying up behind me and I am able to, I'll get out of the way before they reach my bumper. Unless they flash their brights at me before I've even had a chance to do anything. Then they can go fuck themselves lol. If they get mad that I'm not immediately moving over (when I'm looking for a good opening that won't require dropping 10-15 mph to sneak in) and ride my bumper aggressively close, I'll slow down. Extremely passive aggressive, but people who can't wait ten seconds for me to get out of their way need to chill the hell out.

I wish they'd do that in CA. In TX, people have MANNERS, and use the left lane for passing only. In CA, I get behind greeniemobiles with Obama '08 stickers in the left lane going 53 in a 65 zone to save MY gas that I paid for, and to shove their personal political issues in my face. That's rude. Do what you please, and go 11 mph in a smart car if you want, in the right lane.... But not in front of NORMAL people going the speed limit or faster, in the left lane please!!!!!!!!!! If I were concerned about saving fuel, I wouldn't be driving a 9,000-lb Chevy 4x4 crew cab, and if I get a ticket, that's MY fault; and I don't need the protection from that ticket by a snail in a hybrid in front of me.
All due respect, that could get you in an accident, and even shot at that way... People aren't always reasonable, and they don't always have a license either. They might be a felon with a gun, or a very angry out-of-control person. You have no way of knowing. The fundamental rule (and the law in CA and TX, as well as most other states I think), is "slower traffic keep right". That law is what they call a "several law", or freestanding law, and does not apply only within a speed limit. Meaning that if the speed limit is 75, and you're going 90, and the guy behind is going 125, you're in the wrong if you're in the left lane in the first place. Maybe that doesn't sound fair, but it's the law, and in some countries such as Germany, the slower car will be found at fault for any accident if they get rearended on the Autobahn by a faster car coming up behind. And beyond the law, it saves a huge amount of grief to follow it. I don't like to piss people off, any more than I like to be pissed off by others. Again, all due respect to you as you're a great member here.... I'm just elaborating on a point that we both share from different angles.

I'll never understand the logic behind "cruising" in the left lane. GTF over in the right if you're keeping pace with traffic. Also, GTF over if you're in the left lane and someone is riding up your ass doing twice the speed limit -- let HIS ass get a speeding ticket!

Yea, I'm just nauth of ya up hea in Jax. They are weird creatures up here. They move around mostly early mornings and early evenings and the rest go back up. I'm still co fused as to how New York is cooler with no ac than down here with ac. Either way they pretty much stay off the roads. Now all I have to worry about are teenage girls texting!
I've never seen a cop car come to a full stop at a stop sign either.
However, the NJ state cop herding the Civic to the proper lane was brilliant. Like a border collie.
