late night cals while juicing

my uncle gavae me some good advice to gain some extra mass while juicin
set your alarm for 3 am and down a pre made high cal/protein drink. This will help keep high nitrogen levels, and hopefully add some mass
 
Im on the same boat as coal, i just keep an isopure on my night stand and swig it every few hours while im sleepin
 
Unless you are "really" having trouble putting on pounds while chemically enhanced (which no one should if you are eating properly during the day, every 2 to 3 hours) I don`t think it`s necesary to wake yourself up while sleeping....

Just eat a boat load of cottage cheese right before bed for some slow burning casein protein and get your rest so you can be energized the next day.
 
i eat about 2K cals before bed every night for the past 2 weeks and let me tell you! not only me but EVERYONE is telling me i am gettin huge lately.. so the late cals sure may be working!
 
Lots of people do this. I recall reading that Gary Strydom used to eat chicken breasts every four hours, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I'd be gagging on them after a few days.

I figure if you wake up, it will help to down some protein, but I wouldn't set my alarm to get up to do it.

I do think it is a good idea to have a protein shake before bed. I use caseinate protein in mine since it digests slowly. I also mix in peanut butter or flax oil with the powder and milk since this is supposed to further slow digestion and keep aminos available most of the night.
 
when I was competing, I would drink a ton of water before bed, when i woke up in the middel of the night i would eat a can of tuna befoer i pissed. or else i would jsut piss and go back to bed. I lied it alot! As far as the REM sleep goes. I'm not 100% sure but i think the GH release happens shorty after you enter REM sleep. with this in mind you mihgt get the added benefit of tha t release twice in a night. You might want to look that up. All i can say is it really heped me in my dieting days of comptetition!!

what do you eat to get 2k in cals b4 bed,i wanna start getting mroe in before i hit the hay
 
i can see downing a high protein low carb drink in the middle of the night, but high calorie drink will add more fat then muscle, you dont need carbs while you sleep.
 
I agree with Serge. I tend to wake up every 2 hours in the middle of the night. Thus, I will have a scoop or two of whey protein with water. You do not need the extra carbs when sleeping. Unless you really want to put on weight and are bulking up.
