last meal before bed?

New member
what do most eat before bed... I try to get just s source of protein...

either a low carb protein bar...
or 6 egg whites, 1 yolk...
or 6 ounce chicken breast....

what about everyone else?

i have a small can of tuna, 20 g protein, 2 tbsp flaxseed and 5 g gluatamine. is this too much?? i heard the fat would help with protein absorption through the night.

also cozmokracker i keep seeing you post and have been wondering if that is you in your avatar?? if so what are ur stats and age, also would u mind posting what a usual cutting diet would look like for u?

Yes that is me in my avitar...

stats... 5'5... 160 lbs... 8% bodyfat...

cutting diet...

06am... 30 minutes cardio
07am... 6 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 1 tbsp Flax oil
10am... 6 ounce chicken breast with broccoli or asparagus
01am... one can tuna
04pm... 6 ounce chicken breast with broccoli or asparagus
05pm... workout
07pm... post workout shake, 45g protein, 5g creatine, 30g carbs
10pm... low carb protein bar

come on guys... there are thousands of us here... and we all eat
before we go to bed... lets hear it... what do you have?

cozmo that is enogh calories for you wehn your cutting, it only looks like less than 1500???? u dotn lose much muscle? when u bulk how many calories do u take in around?

110%... that works out to be about 2100 calories for me...
I forgot to mention that the cans of tuna are the double
serving size... and there is usually an extra low carb
protein bar thrown into there somewhere...

When I'm bulking I take in about 2800 to 3000 calories

If I've been out drinking, i'll have 8 egg whites/cup of oatmeal, & try to stay awake for another hour. Otherwise, maybe a double shake (50 g protein, 133 cal, not counting the skim milk)

a whey shake and 1 tbs spoon of flax seed oil to slow it down no carbs for me.

i have this too...but protein powder has about 2-4carbs in it. is this still ok?

i was wanting to try turkey. are there precooked ones u can buy at the supermarket?
i cant be bothered always cooking!

Are carbs in moderation that bad before bed....?

I knew this guy... 6 foot... 220 lbs and only 7% bf... and
he had 40 grams protein and 20 grams carbs everynight before
bed via a shake... and it worked pretty damn well for him

ye but im only a little gal...
: )
a little carbs can go a long way...

so back to my turkey question.....

no carbs are okay before bed. I dont care what form they are in.

all carb consumption should occur before 3 p.m.

Bro I eat just about anything before bed, just be careful on portion size. I try however to stick to just protein and good fat. First choice is solid food (protein) b/c it will last much longer along w/ some flax or olive oil. Choice number 2 would be cassein w/ flax and milk.

Yes that is the ideal... And if i told you what i'm eating right now you'd think i'm crazy... but f--- it! I'm eating Frosted Cheerios! lol. My mind is not ready to handle the idea of cutting again... it's still has relapses of my bulking diet every now and then... lol.

I work 12 hr shifts at night so I usually work out during the morning. After working out I make me a shake consisting of carrots, yogurt, strawberries, blackberries and 1/2 a banana , glutamine, creatine, with a some amount of protein power. Sometimes on my days off, I take the same drink before going to the gym and my energy is better then when, I am taking a fat burner.

It may not be the best idea to eat anything if you've been drinking. Your liver is busy breaking down the alcohol in your body so the only thing it will do with the protein is store it as fat. Eat what you want when you want, but i would recommend not eating when drinking.

Before i go to bed i usually just have a cab of tuna.

Some meat (usually chicken, occasionally beef) and maybe a little sugar-free Jello (10 calories worth) to keep the sweet tooth quiet.

When dieting, I have to have solid food for the last meal of the day, or I wake up hungry as hell in the middle of the night - hungry enough that it makes falling back asleep almost impossible.
