Last ME Bench Day

This was my last bench day before the meet. I had 2 objectives.

1. Find an opener and 2nd attempt
2. See if my 'secret' weapon shirt was ready for use.

First attempt (loose shirt) : 475

I wanted to leave a little in the tank so I chose a 3 board press for use with my tight shirt.

Third attempt (3 board) : 575

I am not sure if I have 575 in me for this meet (or if it will make it all the way down to my chest with that shirt for that matter), but I think it's coming in the near future.


Interesting note: no pec pain and very little shoulder pain. Thanks to Benchmonster for inspiring me to do some training in my shirt. I am again thinking its good to get a little practice in. This week, I was able to keep my elbows tucked more and have my partner hand out over my belly. This came from refining our technique through practice.

looks like everything is going good!
475, looked really easy ... im jealous.
525 looked decent too, bit slow, but none the less, very impressive.
575 looked good too off the 3 board. Does the bench shirt help you out off the boards??

Having some trouble with the vids, my end not yours, so cannot comment there, but I am very happy I could contribute in some small way. I hope you knockem dead at the meet.

Deceiver, speaking for myself, I get some help off the boards with my shirt on. The shirt helps keep my shoulders tight, and my elbows tucked, as well as providing a bit of compression off the boards, I can do a whole lot more off the 3 board with a shirt than without.

ok bench, cause i didnt think the shirt would help much but i guess it does. M y shirts a piece of shit, i can beat my raw bench max with it, hell i can only beat my paused raw max by 10 lbs. God damn bench shirt. In the contest, i could've went shirt less and got the same weights... i hate shirts :)

Awesome job. So what are you gonna attempt at the meet? Just got the videos to work. This is the first time I've seen your gym. It's bad! All the plates along the wall!!! Good luck at your meet.

Dont ask why but i got it to work, well my wife did, but i gotta wait a good while fo rit to come on. About 3 to 5 min. Then when its over i have to wait again. I cant just slide the bar to where i want. Like on power mags and Iron wear. BUT i did see them. Good job Irish! They looked like strong lifts. Are those gonna be your attempts in the meet?

I got a video of our June meet, when i get a chance i will get a extra copy and i will just send the whole thing to you. Its just footage of Me , JIMMIE Dean , Freak19, and Grimmer. But you could maybe put my 600 bench on there, or any of ours for your archive. But either way i will have to have some one tape it for me and when i do i will send it too you.

I dam sure need to learn about computers. Pics and videos should be EZ.
 
IRISH way to go. Is this just a bench meet or push/pull or 3 lift???

deciever: regarding forearm vein: i use the simmons repetition method when masturbating. it seems to be working.

yes the shirt helps on boards. it takes a lot of my pec out of the movement. it helps me to learn the shirt's groove. it also helps me overload triceps. i have been burned though using the boards exclusively. before my pec tear, i hit 640 on a 2 board, then bombed at a meet cause i couldnt get 600 down to my chest. i will ALWAYS make sure i take full benches before the meet from now on.


okie/pljay: these should be my first 2 attempts at the meet. providing i dont have to repeat my 2nd, I will throw on my tight shirt and try something bigger.

cubanito: this is a 3 lift meet. i'd like to qualify for nationals here. i don't do push/pull meets. they piss me off because they dont even add the 2 damn lifts up. i consider the squat the only REAL lift anyway cause its the only one that can kill you if you screw up :) ever seen a patella tendon rupture :)

went to a different computer, and just got the vids to work. Man you are stronger than bathtub gin. What class are you lifting in? 275's I am guessing by looking at you.

Great work on all 3 lifts. You have some outstanding lockout muscles. Very impressive. The 475 looked like it was a joke. I recalled thinking as I watched it, "Put some weight on the bar, that was smokin!"
