Lactose intolerant, will milk sugars be utilized?

Ok, so far any of the nutritionists i've asked can give me an answer but... If one is Lactose intolerant, that is unable to digest the milk sugar lactose due to the bodies inability to produce the enzyme lactase, then one could rationally conclude that the carbs in milk are passing through your system and are not being utilized thus milk(skim) becomes a fat free, carb free protien source if one does not mind the gas and diarrhea that go along with it.

Is my line of thinking correct?
