Knees

Looks like I'm going to the Orthopedic doc this afternoon to see if I have "runners knee" or Prepatellar Bursitis (sp?). My left knee is toast........

Last squats I did screwed it royally.

Anyone have any experience with this??????

I'm praying they don't stick a needle in there and drain it, (shiver)

I'm know I'm one of the older bros here, but I'm too young for this!!!!!

Anyone?

Left Knee

Yeah I got it too. It doesn't bother me all the time. Sometimes when I squat. It always bothers me the day after my baseball games. I've got the surgical tubing that your suppose to wear to take pressure off...but I never do. The worst thing is when I sit for a long time...like at a movie...it aches like crazy.

If that's all it is....you shouldn't have to worry about getting it drained. Let me know what they tell ya...maybe I can avoid a doctor visit. Good luck man.

ouchie...no only tendonitis.....ice/heat/repeat.....

But I have to say "Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes"...sorry that popped into my head when I saw the post and if I have to be annoyed with it rattling around in my head..... so do you!;)

Thanks alot...now that will be locked in my brain for days. That's just grrrrreat.

I guess it's better than "gitchy gitchy ya ya ya..."

I had an injury that took me out for 8 months. I did it squating 425 on the 8th rep. After I started work here, I got insurance and went to the doc to have x-rays done to see if I could ever squat again. It turns out there was no damage to the miniscus or ligaments. What i had done was I bruised the inside of the patella, because mine float high in the groove. It had been out of place and I went down too fast, it went pop, back in. It hurt like a bastard, and I could hardly walk. Anyway, it took a long time to heal, but I squat now and wrap my knees for any leg excercise.

Shags, you're not helping. hehe

I did some research and found the runner's knee (Chondromalacia of the Patella)

Man, the symptoms are dead on. Inner portion of the knee, pain after sitting with knees bent for a long time, aggravating it by bending past a certain degree, etc.....

If draining it helps, fine. I just can't imagine sticking a needle in the knee........I'm such a puss.

But no squats or cardio? Argh!

Hey, the doc's a lifter, maybe he'll understand....

Wish me luck! Appt. in 30 min.......

I've had both knees drained four times, one surgery on the left, and a total reconstruction of the right one. I still do squats!

Okay,
It looks like I've torn my Meniscus Cartilage.

Here's the situation...I leave for London in 4 weeks.
They said if we do the orthoscopic surgery next week, I should be fine for walking around London by then.
Sounds fairly simple. 1 cm incision, 15 min. procedure.

Wodin,,,,anybody.....is this long enough?

As it stands now, it hurts like hell and is swollen.

Any experienced opinions welcomed.......

You'll be fine and it wont debilitate your squats either. The minscus is the front portion that seperates the joint tissue from the cap. Two weeks, you should be great, just up your protien levels to aid in your recovery.

Another thing, sorry...fructose add as much as you can to your diet. Your body will be looking all over the place for carbs!

I've had mine swell up and look like a huge grapfruit sticking out the front. You'll be fine bro, looks alot worse than it is.
