I did get a promotion and my sales quota for the month went to a kazillion dollars...now i got my first warning....im kinda depressed and dumbfounded....i've never failed anything in my life and i feel like a failure right about now....I supposed being fired comes next?

no im a pretty hard worker....the market is pretty tough to penetrate as my target market is west coast canada....i'm struggling

maybe i'm not that good...i dnt know..maybe i give myself too much credit...but i kinda feel like a loser right now....

Dude, that is your heads up. Sales is make it or break it. We let people go after two weeks sometimes. If they perform well and then suddenly slide down, we give them more leeway. Usually a warning, then a performance improvement plan - if no improvement after that, you're gone...

This is why I don't work in sales

Dont worry about it. Apparently you have gone several months without making quoto.. I have my sales managers issue written warnings only after 2 consecutive months of low sales... Advice: do not make excuses, take the responsiblility.. Have you been spending to much time on other things? Honestly , take a look at your last months sales call log and ask yourself if you did everything possible to close a deal. Good luck to you... The sales manager is just trying to light a fire under you , thats all.... did he put you on a 60 or 90 day improvement plan?
