bottomline: he got beat. for someone who was going off the aura that he was 'unbeatable' and dared anyone off the internet to challenge him; it was funny to see him actually losing a match.

so he's human. he can be beat. he's like anyone else. who cares about him then?

it's like a boxer losing to another boxer. than they parade around 'you must watch the rematch!'

why? i can just hit replay on my vcr. do they do 'rematches' of super bowls?

I dont get what you dont get ? Kimbo became popular bottom line..so there is going to be interest in him fighting MMA. nothing you can do about that. and he's fighting a name which makes it more intriguing...then you throw bas rutten training him into the mix and its going to stir atleast some excitement.

like i said. he's been beat. so what if he's been 'training'. so? why should someone pay to see him? what belts has he won? what's his professional resume? what has he achieved besides turning on dorky skinny guys on the net who love him for being the stereotypical tough black guy?

I can say that having watched most every major televised boxing match and most of the ufc's and many pride's that Kimbo has a couple things going for him.

1. He's fuckin big and strong.
2. He hit's fuckin hard and most of his fight ending punches aren't even him really throwing his full power into them, but you can tell they hurt by the faces of the guys hit by him.
3. He's a tough guy and willing to learn. That right there speaks alot about him.
4. Bas Rutten says he's one of the best fighters he's ever trained. That says enough.

5. Last, but not least, most of the strikers in the ufc aren't that impressive punching wise IMHO. There are some good kickers, but I'd bet money that in a pure striking match that kimbo would knock chuck liddel, quinton rampage or any of those guys out within 1-2 rounds. Against guys like Fedor or Mirko he would get owned, but in a straight punching match I still think he would knock them out cold. He has excellent side to side movement.

So, you combine very powerful punching, with huge size, toughness and the will to learn you got someone that can really be something.

Who knows. Maybe he'll get fucked up. Maybe he'll pwn, but to discredit the guy is retarded imo.
