kidney stone surgery

i have a 10 mm stone that has decided to leave the right kidney. Well its wedged and very painful, im haveing surgery in the morning. The doctor says he will insert a stint threw my penis and take out stone. He will leave the stint in that is attatched by a sting that hangs out the head of my dick glued to the top. When he feels the swelling is down he is gonna yank the string and pull the stint out. Has anyone ever had that done before, im real nervous.

surgery? you might want a second opinion, usually when a stone is too big to pass they do an ultrasound on you to break it up and then you pass it. I have never heard of surgery on a kidney stone. From what i know, if the stone is to big to pass they knock you out, put you in cold water and use the ultra sound. Damn, i hope you dont have to get this stone out this way, that sounds like an infection waiting to happen glue, and penis in the same sentance just sounds awful.

Ah I feell your pain, I just passed a stone about a month ago with another one that is still working its way through, MUCH smaller but it caused some really bad bladder and Urinary tract infections. And I get to go back thursday for another evaluation. He was talking about doing the same thing you are describing and I don't even want to think about being out while someone sticks something up my peehole

A real doctor would use a type of ultrasound to break the stone up into tiny bits you can pass.

My buddy had it done. He had a huge stone as well. They did the ultrasound treatment and it broke the stone up. It left quite a few small "shards" that were very painful and cut up his urinary tract when they were discharged. He pissed blood for a week. The ultrasound also bruised his mid section all the way around.

I would get a second opinion. The treatment they are going to do to you sounds like some sort of 3rd world country treatment.

If you are not living in Uzbekistan, I would find another doc. I am sure you can find a better doc.

weel i just got back from the hospital, i had a stint placed in my eureathra? and he removed the stone. I askrd about the ultrasound but he said that isonly when the stone is still the kidney. My stone was just about in the bladder. I have a string hanging out the ehad of my dick. I piss red blood and even pissed out air? The stint is placed so the ureathra doesnt swell shut while its healing. oweel im just gonna kick dack and take my vicadin.

He's right on the money. My father had 3 8mm's removed that way and I think he missed a single day of work. It sucks that they didn't catch it earlier.

from what my doc told me when i passed mine, is that kidney stones can be developing for years, so its kinda hard to prevent what you dont know is there.

I've had the exact same procedures done, about 6 years ago. The stint will be inserted first, while under general anesthesia. My stone removal surgery was 1 week later. Scooped it out with a basket type tool, through the penis, also while out. My stone did'nt move for 2 weeks, in the hospital for the last week on morphine, most painful fuckin thing ever. Everything else is cake after the stint is installed. One heavy load was lifted.

Hey man been there done it! You were told RIGHT in the fact it all depends on where the stone is located as to where it can be broken up and not removed with surgery. My doctor told me nothing of a string hanging out and after i came back from recovery and started to change into my clothes i freaked when i saw that damned fishing line hanging out taped to my dick! That night when i went to sleep i got hard and woke up screaming cause that damned line was pulling against the tape. Stones are caused alot by lack of fluids and also anti acid in large amounts. I was eating rolaids all the time and was staying dehydrated alot at work. Also when he yanks that puppy out your gonna feel it. Youul see why when he holds that sucker up and says i got it! Its a coiled wire with a coating on it like rubber or something. Felt like a nickel coming through my wanker. Sorry for ya.

Takes the doc 2 seconds to remove, pulls it out very quickly. You'll feel it all the way to your bladder. You s/b back to normal almost immediately, maybe a little sore.

I have never heard of that surgery, I thought they just used ultrsound these days to break the stone up into like sand and your all clear again. I had 3 kidney stones in 1985 while in the Navy and baxk then they really didn't know what to do and never had anymore bad enough that I went back to the doctors. I hope you get other options than the one you described. The first stone I had they did something simular with tubes and stuff but it was to scope the area and make sure everything was clear and that sucked bad, them lying nurses tell you it won't hurt. The first thing I did after it was over was go to the nurse station and tell them I want some pain meds bceause it did hurt even with the pain gel they used to numb me.

Yea mine was thick black fishing line type of deal. The thing was is it was tied in a knot and ite like a big loop. Every day the little knot started working its way to my opening so i would have to take it and try to pull it in a circle to get the knot back out a ways. I also got the stint put in first and 4 days later they went in. The thing they use has a little umbrella type thing that goes in past the stone opens then they pull it out.

Dont worry about the blood. Man i pissed solid blood it seemed for a day. But after 3or4 days it was almost gone. It hurts some on stint removel but its real fast. I was scared it would hang on somthing cause he pulled hard and fast. But its worth it do get that damned line out. Plus i wonder why they need it in a loop cause one string would be less agravating.
