Key Elements in only losing fat and NOT muscle when cutting?

What are the most important things to do/take/remember/train (anything) when your cutting? When you want to cut all fat or mostly fat and NO muscle, what are the things you do? What dosages are you on or what are you taking to not lose any muscle and cut to a very low bodyfat?

Theres alot of variables to this question.....DIET...must be precise...How many calories do you burn through out the day, how phisically demanding is your job while working. And much more to take in to consideration, while loosing fat and keeping muscle....For me its either bulk or cut no inbetween.

Clean diet, dont just go from 300 calories to 1800. slowly cut calories every few weeks. Low instensity cardio. low dose of test.

What exactly is a low dose of test? And how many pounds a week can you realistically shed and have it MOSTLY be fat?

Im guessing you are a natural lifter. in that case, just eat a high protein diet. that will help with keeping muscle loss to a minimum.

Everyone's definition of low amount of test is different though, 100 -200 -500?

because everyone is different. low dose for a 170 pound guy would be 250. low dose for a guy 220 would be more maybe 350-500. if youve never cycled before then i dont suggest you should use aas to diet or "cut". just eat clean and save the AAS for a bulking cycle as a first cycle.

400mgs test ew, 45 mins cardio ed ( empty stomach, first thing in the morn), last carb meal to end 4 hours before going to sleep, a decent fat burner ( clen's good ). Addition of say 50 - 60 mgs of anavar to the test could prolly give you a little lean mass gains as well while simultaneously burning fat. Oh, and 1 cheat day once a week.

right ...keep the protien high and taper the carbs down as the weeks go by...you should reallt set up a 12 week plan like the pros do and tailor it to our needs, im not saying as drastic as the pros but a 12 week plan has been working very nicely for me.

Maintain muscle by lifting weights. You lose fat by eating less.

No aerobics. The catabolism to calories loss deficit is unfavorable. Instead of running an extra 5 miles to burn the calories you got from eating a muffin, don;t eat the muffin.

The rest is genetics.

Ultimate Diet 2 by Lyle McDonald. You WILL shed fat and you WILL put on muscle. The diet works. You don't need AAS to do it, but it definately helps though too. Check it out.

I eat almost no carbs, not quite in keto but very low. good protein and helathy fats. not cheeseburgers w no buns. I do not do cardio, just lift and diet. I do one cheat day. Working well for me i am hovering around 7% bf now i was 18% 2 years ago. I have also kept most of muscle, and i am 8 weeks out of a test prop cycle.

Nice man, how heavy are you and how tall?

I would go lower carbs but I feel weak without them and I just love carbs in general. Where do you get your healthy fat sources from, mostly fish and steak?

Quick question here.. would 300mg Test EW shut down your Natural Test Production after lets say 10 to 12 weeks? So normal PCT is needed or you can get away without one?

Can you elaborate a bit Nelson (sorry to go a bit off-topic)? I read his diet and was tempted to try it but some of the things were just way too extreme and bazzare for me; ie: starvation, full body workouts, etc.

I've written about this extensively. To make a long story short, Lyle Mc Donold is a bit of a jackass. He wasn't even a bodybuilder when he wrote tat stupid diet book which is based on some very old and very flawed theories. Being in ketosis works to lose weight for 3 reasons. One ; you're dehydrated. Two: you lose muscle along with fat. And three, you eat less calories. Seems to me you might as well ignore step one and two and go right to step 3.

i just got done reading the book and the objective is not to go into ketosis, im giving the book alot more thought before i just jump right into it...but is it really that bad of a diet plan nelson if your not in ketosis? i havent tried the diet and im not defending it i just want to hear all arguments before i give it a shot.....any other recomendations on diets?

What the basic element of this diet, is it basically Carb Cycling? No carb.. low carb.. High Carb days? Or is it different

Well, that was his whole thing. Maybe he's changed his tune. Like I said, he's a bit of a jackass -- more interested in theories than practical application. By the way, the guy used to be kind of fat. Not sure if he still is.

I do the same exact thing: the majority of carbs I take in are from a PWO shake (simple carbs) and first thing in the morning, to get the body out of catabolism..and veggies of course... otherwise, it's mostly protein and healthy fats... sometimes I have a cheat day during the week, sometimes I don't....I rarely do cardio, I lift 4 days a week

in a month, you can definitely start noticing a difference

iv have been dieting for a little over 6 weeks now an iv been having carbs in the morning an after training an thats it rest of my meals have been chicken an green veg's an steak with greens an lots of fish oil an flax seed oil i posted my whole diet up in the diet from an was tolled if i want to get below 10% i would have to do something drastic an that was the diet that push me past 10% i take it you disagree nelson ? also how long should i continue with the diet im still seeing improvements every week so i thought i would just keep going till i get to where i want or is there a point where you should stop the diet for a week or two an then hit it again

But I drink two gallons of water a day and my pee is clear enough to drink. Plus I've lost body Fat and put on muscle. True it's a Calorie restricted diet to the extreme but it's for four days and then you do a three day refeed. I gradually tapered down before I tried it, and it made it very do-able

Bottom line -- cut calories to severe degree for 4 days and you'll lose weight. That ain't exactly a brilliant plan. Fat management is a lifestyle, not a program.

"Fuck Cardio"................I have to do it everyday now that I have plateued at 6%..........I hate it......"Fuck Cardio".......That's my motto........but if I want to get down to 3.8% (thats what I'm shooting for) I have to add it.

P.S. I also "Don't get to eat".........the muffin............."Fuck cardio"

P.S.S. I might get a shirt made up with "Fuck Cardio" on it.

HA! "Fuck Cadrio" eh? Why don't you make it interesting.. Take a spin class a couple nights a week with the girls, just to see if you can do it big guy! I did it, once, just to see if I could do it for an hour straight. I did..

I have a girls few that have been asking me to do it but I know it's just a sneaky plan to get me in there so they can all try and kill me....

Kill you with happy time maybe....3.8!? Good lord I got down to about 7.5 Right now, but then again I'm runnin cardio only once a day and I'm not taking any fat burners... I'm eating as clean as can be plenty of protein and really hard lifts...but that's just rediculous!!!

Where can I find this book at a reasonable price? I checked Amazon.com and it appears to be out of print and available there only at sky-high prices.
