Ketosis

I am looking for opinions on entering ketosis for fat loss. I am around 10% body fat at 200lbs, I would like to get my bodyfat down to 5%. Would a ketogenic diet be the best possible way to quickly reduce bodyfat? I'm thinking about doing a straight keto diet for 12-16 weeks, I will be training each muscle once a week as well as 45-60 minutes of cardiovascular activity every day. Calories will be at a -500 of maintanance levels. I would like to hear some opinions on ketosis. Thanks
 
ive im going to low carb something i say fuck it and go all out and drop the fats too but only eat protien with a fiber supp and a multiviamen

if your lean body mass is 200 pounds then eat 200 grams of protien take 5 htp for the appetite suppreasant and you will get sliced and diced in just weeks
 
Thanks bro, my LBM is 180lbs. Do you think it is a good idea to reduce my calories further than 2000K per day. I was thinking about doing somewhat of a fat-fast diet in which calories are at 1200-1500K per day. I would do this for 4weeks, take 1 week off then repeat for another 3-4 weeks. The fat-fast would be ketogenic, fats 75%-Protein25%. H20 would be 3 gallons per day. I would weight train each muscle once per week along with 45-60 minutes of cardio twice per day. What do you think about this?
 
it would be worthwhile to read up on the current stuff of Lyle McDonald.

the current way of thinking is that the ketogenic diet isn't worth it once you are under 15%bf.

also, you will stress your leptin levels if you retain that for any time over 7 days or so.

so you need refeed periods (higher cals and carbs) in order to get the leptin levels to remain high enough.

anyway - there is a ton of it out there if you do a search on it :)

(the ketogenic diet - assuming you are then going to do a cyclical one - is then just painful, but you don't get the rapid fat loss and muscle sparing effects that it is so good for at higher bf levels)
 
Ketosis is ideal for myself. In the past going keto with my fast metabolism results in some very quick fat loss, I dieted for 3-4 weeks and lost 10-15 lbs, lost a very small amount of muscle if any. The only thing am going to try is a re-feed day to restore glycogen from the low intensity workouts I do daily while dieting. I probubly didn't have more than 5-10 g of carbs during the whole month of keto.

Next time I need to cut, I am going to go into keto, perhaps using insulin to jump start it, along with the re-feeds and some clen. Hopefully if I respond in the same manner I can drop all I want in a 2-3 week burst this time. Also seing as I have natural hyperinsulinemia, the keto actually made me a lot more energetic and think clearer, contrary to like 90% of others who go keto.
 
just be shure to take appetite suppresants like 5htp and then when u hit 5 percent bodyfat slowly add back calories like a handful portion of carbs each week till you reach about 6 handfulls or the size of your fist.
 
i dont believe in refeeds. in my opinion they just set you back. its all about calorie reduction. and the only thing u need is protien and minimal fat.
 
Is test usefull for cutting. For example, if I were to use 250mg per week, would this be sufficient in order to prevent muscle loss due to high amounts of cardio? I would only do 250mg/week because I don't want to use anti-estrogens.

while I would have to say that I used to agree with you, the newest research in leptin levels would show that what you are talking about is purely based on your own personal experience.
maybe you have naturally high leptin levels, or levels that don't depress easily.

7figureman - test is useful in cutting or bulking - it is the diet that determines the rest. but yeah, it would help retain muscle mass - as would other anti-catabolic drugs like fina.
 
also, a refeed is no longer effective if you exceed the needed calories, and if you exceed the amount of time you need to get the leptin levels back up.
it differs for different people.

anyway, this is all stuff that Lyle has written a ton on. search google for his stuff, and/or read his books.
 
HS, do you think a anti-e is necessary for 250mg/week of test. Would 250mg produce enough estrogen aromatization which would interfere with fat burning?

what i plan on doing next time is pretty much the same except on lifting days i will drop protien to about 150 and eat about 150 carbs so i will still be able to keep my cals very low

1st off - when I'm talking about all of this - keep in mind that I have done all kinds of random shit, and there are many people on this board in better shape than me.
these are all personal opinions based on my observations and what I've read.

that said - I don't think 250mg of test a week needs any anti-Es unless you are really sensitive.

I'd bet that macrophage would want you to use some yohimburn if you are worried about such things

I think this question could better be directed to the anabolic board,...course they'll probably say "Sure! go for it".
My opinion is that amount of test would help keep you in an anabolic state, but the side effects aren't worth it.
Doctors give a bit less than that to older guys on a long term basis for hormone replacement therapy.
And the side effect is the testicals shrink to nothing.
And your own natural test production drops to zero.
And when you stop injecting, you have to take other drugs to get the nads up to speed again,
and often they NEVER come all the way back (speaking from experience here).
My opinion: not worth jeapordizing your health, considering you're already in great shape anyway.
If you're determined to do this, I'd say three weeks only.

if you are dieting for a full 16 weeks, i don't know that keto would be necessary. if you use keto for 16 wks though, you might be able to use a hypercaloric diet and possibly even add a bit of muscle while losing fat (you would probably need some cardio, too).

right now i am doing keto. only a little over two weeks in and i have another two weeks to go. i hope to see at least a hint of a whole six pack. i am gradually reducing my calories to a fairly drastic deficit in order to do so, though.

If I had his money I wouldn't waste my time with sustanon but rather use some exotic stuff like IL-15 or maybe take 30 IU of GH for breakfast.....:p
 
I started CKD on oct 4th at 315lbs
now dec 4 at 283.
Lost 4-5 inches from the waist.
I love it easiest diet regime I followed.

the first week is hell
but living with a dried mouth a bath breath pissing every 5 min, low BD and blood sugars is not that bad actually

carbs are evil! :mad: :mad: ;)
