Keepable strength

Are the strength gains from var as great as they are cracked up to be? How much of the gains are kept afterwards? Or would more total gains be kept from dbol, assuming some is lost? Weight gain is not an issue here. All other ideas are welcome, assuming the only goal is lots of keepable strength. I'd like to hear some of your personal experiences.
 
I dont think much is keepable from dbol. Im sure the dbol only cycle guys here would disagree but the strength gained from dbol is levarage through a water increase in your joints. It dissappears when you stop taking it.
 
I'm in my second week of pct from my test/var cycle and strength is still the same had great strength gains my bench went up 60 pounds, squat 40 and deads also 40
 
Dbol is all water gain, not worth doing it all on its own, but a kick start to a good cycle.

I just hate the heavy water retention... I'll never use it again.
 
the strength part af anavar was amazing. ive kept probably 90% of the strength gains made. i have not nor will i do d-bol. from what ive seen from bud's and reading on here most of the gains are bloat, and the strength gains are temporary IMO and concidering the side's from it, it's not worth it imo.
 
what about doing a test/dbol/var cycle... 1-12 test 1-5 dbol 6-14 var..... you should be able achieve good strength gains with that

Yep, jrock is right, if you use dbol for bump start and then switch to var that will solidify alot of your gains and make strength more maintainable. Throw in an anti-a if concerned about E
