im trying to download ronnie coleman - unbelievable but when i hit preview/play, nothing happens. it goes to the 'theater' but nothing happens at all, even when i press play

thanks. i dont need to download anything to play avi, right? it will just play in kazaa's theater?

After you download the full video the option to preview/ play goes away i think. Your computer should be equipped with windows media player. So just find out where the file downloaded to and then open it up.

You can preview an avi. You have to use an avi previewer. You should uninstall kazaa and install kazaalite. it comes with an avi previewer but you'd have to start the download all over again.

Or you could just download AVI Preview.

It it doesn't work either you don't have the codec or it's a bad file. AVI Preview has saved me the trouble of downloading a lot of bogus movies.

Exactly, most of the time it is a question of codecs.

One other cool thing i learned recently about kazaalite.
There is something called "participation level" that is related with the amount of files you share.
It lets people with higher participation level get files more easily.
In kazaalite participation level is by default "k-lite master" (1000) wich is the maximum.

Actually I think most of the time it's bad files. I make sure to stay on top of codecs. I still get the black screen movies sometimes. I'm not sure if that pisses me off more or wrong named movies.

What player do you use?
Some files i coudn't play in windows media player i manage to run them in DivX Player 2.1.
One good thing is that he says exactly the codec missing (sometimes even sound codecs and there's no movie to see.)
But of course some files don't play anywhere.

I use media player although I like zoom player better. I haven't seen a file that wouldn't play in media player and play in the divx player. I did use divx play when I had a older computer because it played divx better but not that I have a more powerful computer it doesnt' matter.
